NBA Youngboy, born Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, is an American rapper from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is currently signed to Atlantic Records. He first gained recognition in 2015 after the release of his single, “Bitch I’m From Baton Rouge”, which went viral on YouTube. He has been in and out of jail since he was a teenager and is currently incarcerated.

NBA Youngboy’s first arrest

In February 2016, Youngboy was arrested in Tallahassee, Florida and was charged with attempted first degree murder, possession of a firearm by a delinquent, and two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm.[23] He pleaded not guilty to all charges on March 7, 2016. The charges stemmed from an incident that occurred on October 12, 2015, in which Youngboy and his brother allegedly got into an argument with another man named Malique Foster. Youngboy’s brother reportedly pulled out a gun and shot Foster nine times. NBA Youngboy’s second arrest

In February 2017, NBA Youngboy was arrested in Atlanta and charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, and weapons charges. He was accused of kidnapping and assaulting his then-girlfriend Jania Jackson. He was arrested again in May 2018 on an outstanding warrant for those charges. In July 2018, he pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault and one count of gun charges and was sentenced to 10 years in prison, with seven to be served in confinement and the remainder on probation. He was released from prison in May 2020.

In February 2021, NBA Youngboy was arrested again on charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault, and battery. The victim was his girlfriend Yaya Mayweather. He is currently being held without bond in a Florida jail.
