The Bengals are expected to use their first overall pick on LSU quarterback Joe Burrow, who won the Heisman Trophy this past season. Ohio State defensive end Chase Young is also expected to be a high draft pick, as he is widely considered to be one of the best defensive prospects in recent years. Young could potentially go as high as second overall to the Washington Redskins.

The first pick of the third round will belong to the Detroit Lions, who own the 65th overall selection. The Lions acquired this pick from the New England Patriots in a trade for defensive end Michael Bennett.

Some of the notable players who were drafted in the third round include Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (No. 135 overall in 2016), Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley (No. 10 overall in 2015) and Houston Texans defensive end J.J Watt (No. 11 overall in 2011).

The Fifth Round

The fifth round of the 2020 NFL draft will have 160 selections. These selections will be made by the teams that did not make the playoffs in the 2019 season. This includes the 14 teams that had losing records, as well as the two teams that had 9-7 records (Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers) and did not make the playoffs on a tiebreaker.

The Sixth Round

Round six of the 2020 NFL Draft will begin on Saturday, April 25 at Noon ET. There will be a total of 192 picks in the sixth round.

The Seventh Round

Seventh-round picks are the last picks in the NFL draft. These picks are often referred to as “Mr. Irrelevant” because they are considered the least likely to succeed in the NFL. Nevertheless, there have been some success stories of players drafted in the seventh round. Tom Brady, who is widely considered to be the greatest quarterback of all time, was drafted in the seventh round.

Conclusion

As of right now, there are 256 picks in the 2020 NFL Draft. This includes 32 compensatory picks that were awarded to teams based on their free agent activity during the 2019 offseason. The number of picks can still change, however, as teams can trade picks with each other leading up to the draft.
