Russell Westbrook was drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics with the fourth overall pick in the 2008 NBA draft. He played his first NBA game on October 29, 2008, against the Los Angeles Clippers. Westbrook has been selected to six All-Star teams, five All-NBA teams, and led the league in scoring in 2014–15. He is also a two-time NBA All-Star Game MVP, winning back-to-back honors in 2015 and 2016.

Russell Westbrook was drafted fourth overall in the 2008 NBA draft by the Seattle SuperSonics, who then relocated to Oklahoma City six days later. Westbrook played college basketball for the UCLA Bruins and was their starting point guard for two years. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2009 and has since been a seven-time NBA All-Star and a two-time NBA All-Star Game MVP. He has also been selected to eight All-NBA teams and nine NBA All-Defensive teams. In 2017, he was named the league’s Most Valuable Player (MVP).

Won MVP in 2017
In 2017, Westbrook became one of two players in NBA history to average a triple-double for the entire season, along with Oscar Robertson in 1962. He also set a new record for the most triple-doubles in a season with 42. He was subsequently named the NBA Most Valuable Player.
