Gather your supplies
To make your own baseball tee, you’ll need a few supplies. For the body of the tee, you’ll need a shirt in your size (preferably with a crew neck), a pair of scissors, and a comfort garment or similar item to wear underneath the tee while you’re working. You’ll also need a marker or pen, and something to use as a template for cutting the sleeves – we find that an actual baseball works perfectly for this. Finally, gather some fabric adhesive or temporary double-sided tape.
Cut your fabric
The first step to make your own baseball tee is to cut your fabric. You will need two pieces of fabric that are identical in size. The best way to do this is to fold your fabric in half and then cut it along the fold. This will ensure that both pieces of fabric are the same size.
Next, you will need to cut a third piece of fabric that is slightly smaller than the other two pieces. This piece will be used for the neckline of the shirt.

Now it’s time to start sewing your tee together. Start by folding one of the large pieces of fabric in half and then sewing along the side seams. Do the same with the other large piece of fabric.
Next, take the small piece of fabric and sew it to one of the large pieces of fabric along the top edge. Then, sew the two large pieces of fabric together along the bottom edge, making sure to line up the side seams.
Finally, hem all three edges of your tee- using a serger if you have one, or a zigzag stitch if you don’t.
Sew the sleeves
Sew the sleeves to the shirt. Fold the sleeve in half lengthwise and pin it to the armhole, matching the raw edges. Sew along the pinned edge with a 1/2-inch seam allowance. Repeat for the other sleeve.
Sew the side seams
1. Sew the side seams.
2. Hem the sleeves and the bottom of the shirt.
3. Fold and sew the collar.
4. Sew on the buttons.
5. Decorate the shirt as desired.
Hem the bottom
Hem the bottom of the shirt by folding the fabric up ¼ inch and ironing it in place. Then, fold the fabric up another ¼ inch and iron it again. Sew along the edge of the folded fabric.
