Led by Head coach Kevin Landry, the Georgetown Baseball coaching staff is committed to developing student-athletes on and off the field. The 2015-16 staff features four coaches with Division I playing experience, as well as two former professional baseball players Georgetown assistant coaches are Casey Brown (pitching), Matt Weagle (hitting) and Brandon Kriegel (infield/outfield).

volunteer Assistant Coach Ben Burkhart rounds out the Hoyas’ staff. Burkhart, who played collegiately at American University, is in his first season with the team.

The first former Hoyas player to make it to the MLB was pitcher Jim McCormick, who played for the Chicago White Stockings (now the Chicago Cubs) from 1876-1877. Since then, 39 other former Hoyas have made it to “The Show”, including four who are currently active.

The most recent Georgetown alumnus to make it to the MLB is outfielder Eric Filia who made his debut with the Seattle Mariners in 2018. Filia is one of four Georgetown baseball alumni who are currently active in the MLB, along with pitchers Danny Hultzen (Seattle Mariners), Craig Heyer (Boston Red Sox) and Mike Cavalli (Baltimore Orioles).
