Is There A Female NFL Player?

With the NFL season in full swing, many fans are wondering if there are any female players in the league. The answer is no, there are no female NFL players currently in the league.

The first female player in the NFL

Sarah Thomas became the first female player in the NFL in 2015, when she was hired by the league as a full-time game official. In 2019, she made history again as the first woman to officiate a Super Bowl.

A native of Pascagoula, Mississippi, Thomas played college football at the University of Mobile. She began her officiating career in 1996 and has worked high school, college and semi-pro games.
