The Coaches

Jimmy Gonzales Baseball Academy is a world-renowned Baseball Academy that trains young ballplayers from all over the world. The coaches at the academy are some of the most experienced and talented in the business, and they are dedicated to helping each and every player reach their full potential.

The Head Coach of the academy is Jimmy Gonzales himself, a former professional baseball player who has coached at all levels of the game. He is joined by a team of assistant coaches who are all former professional players themselves. Together, they have a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with their players.

The coaches at Jimmy Gonzales Baseball Academy understand that each player is unique and that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to coaching. They take the time to get to know each player individually and tailor their coaching methods to fit each player’s needs. As a result, their players make incredible progress and develop into top-level ballplayers.

The Facilities

The main facility is located at 42 West Street in Charlestown, and is situated on two acres of land. The complex includes four fields, a clubhouse, and a weight room. The primary field is Regulation Little League, with dimensions of 200 feet to the outfield fences and 60 feet between the bases. The infield dirt is a mix of sand and clay, which is groomed daily. The other three fields are used for infield and outfield practice, as well as for pitching practice. They feature portable mounds and bullpens, along withhitting tunnels.

The Training

Since it opened in 2013, Jimmy Gonzales Baseball Academy has become a place where young ballplayers can develop their skills and love for the game. The academy offers private and group lessons, as well as team training, and Board Director Jimmy Gonzales says they’ve had kids from age 5 all the way up to 18 come through their doors.

“We’ve had a lot of success stories,” says Gonzales. “Kids that have come here that have gone on to play college ball or even been drafted by MLB teams. We’ve had quite a few of those stories, and it feels good to know that we played a small part in helping them achieve their goals.”

Gonzales is passionate about helping young people succeed both on and off the field, and he and his staff go above and beyond to make sure each player has a positive experience at the academy.

“One of the things I take a lot of pride in is the relationships that we build with these kids,” he says. “We become like mentors to them, and I think that’s something that they really appreciate. We want them to know that we care about them as people first and foremost, and that we want to see them do well in life – not just in baseball.”

Many of the players who have come through the academy have gone on to have successful careers in baseball, but even for those who don’t end up playing professionally, Gonzales says the experience at the academy can be valuable.
