Pregame analysis

It’s another big weekend for the Knoxville Regional baseball team as they take on their rivals, the Chattanooga Lookouts Here’s a look at what to expect from the game.

The Lookouts are currently in first place in the Southern League, while the Regional team is in second place. The two teams met earlier this season, with the Lookouts winning two out of three games.

The Lookouts have been led by shortstop Jorge Polanco, who is hitting .340 with eight home runs and 36 RBIs. The Regional team will need to be wary of him if they want to come out on top this weekend.

On the mound, the Lookouts have a number of strong pitchers, including right-hander Jhoulys Chacin, who has a 2.59 ERA and has struck out 100 batters so far this season. The Regional team will need to be patient at the plate and make sure they get on base if they want to score against him.

left-hander Andrew Albers is also a force to be reckoned with, as he has a 2.61 ERA and has struck out 84 batters so far this season. He’ll be starting Game 2 of the series for the Lookouts.

For the Regional team, right-hander Jeff Brigham will be starting Game 1 of the series. He’s coming off a strong start against the Birmingham Barons in which he pitched seven innings of shutout baseball. He’ll need to replicate that performance if the Regional team wants to take home a win.

Postgame analysis

The Smokies played the Cubs close tonight, but ultimately fell 4-2. Here are some thoughts on the game:

-The pitching matchup ended up being a wash, with both starters going six innings and giving up two runs.
-The Smokies had more hits (8) than the Cubs (6), but they couldn’t capitalize on their opportunities.
-The Smokies made one error, which led to an earned run for the Cubs.
-Smokies Left fielder Austin Slater made a great catch in the eighth inning to prevent a run from scoring.

Overall, it was a good effort from the Smokies, but they came up just short.
