Los Altos basketball has a long and proud history. The program was started in the early 1970s by a group of passionate parents and community members who wanted to provide their children with a positive outlet for their energy and talents.
Since then, Los Altos basketball has become one of the most successful programs in the Bay Area The teams have won numerous championships at the local, state, and national level, and have produced many Division I, II, and III college players.
The success of the program is due to the dedication of the coaches and volunteers who work tirelessly to provide a positive experience for all involved. It is also thanks to the support of the community, which has always been behind Los Altos basketball.

The Los Altos Varsity Basketball team is made up of 12 players, all of whom have contributed to the team’s successful season The starting lineup includes two seniors, four juniors, and one sophomore. The team’s leading scorer is senior guard Matt Hesse, who is averaging 18 points per game Other top contributors include junior guard David Lee (16 ppg) and junior forward Andrew Kim (12 ppg). The team’s success has been due in large part to their strong starting lineup but they have also received significant contributions from their bench players
The Fans
Los Altos High School’s basketball team has a devoted and enthusiastic following. The fans are supportive and stay involved throughout the game, cheering the team on to victory. Some of the most die-hard fans can be found in the student section where they lead cheers and create an electric atmosphere. The fans play an important role in the team’s success and contribute to the overall feeling of community at Los Altos High School
The Rivalries
Los Altos High School’s Basketball team is one of the best in the Bay Area They have a long-standing rivalry with crosstown rival Mountain View High School The two schools are less than two miles apart and have been playing each other since the early 1900s. The rivalry is so intense that a fight broke out between the two student bodies in 2016. The game was cancelled and both schools were put on probation.
