5-star recruits

As the Louisville Cardinals look to the future, they have a few 5-star recruits that they are looking at. Here are a few of them:

-Garrison Brooks: A 6-foot-9, 220-pound big man from Auburn, Alabama. He is ranked as the No. 8 player in the country by ESPN. He has been on Louisville’s radar for awhile and they hope to land him soon.

--Marvin Bagley III A 6-foot-11, 220-pound forward from Phoenix, Arizona. He is currently ranked as the No. 2 player in the country by ESPN. He has offers from many schools, but Louisville is one of his top choices.

-Cameron Reddish: A 6-foot-8, 180-pound wing from Norristown, Pennsylvania. He is ranked as the No. 3 player in the country by ESPN. Reddish has said that he plans to take his time with his decision, but Louisville is definitely in the mix.

4-star recruits

4-star recruits Dajuan Wagner and David Wesley have Louisville Fans excited for the upcoming Basketball season Both players are expected to make an immediate impact on the team.

Wagner, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard is one of the top scorer in the country. He averaged 30 points per game last season and was named a McDonald’s All-American. Wesley, a 6-foot-1 point guard is an excellent passer and shooter. He too was named a McDonald’s All-American.

The two players will give Louisville a big boost in the backcourt, which should help the team compete for a National Championship

Tyrez Lawson – A 6’3″ guard from Lithonia, GA, Lawson is an explosive scorer with a high motor. He is ranked as the #84 player in the country by ESPN.

Unranked recruits

There are a lot of very talented basketball players who have yet to be ranked by the major recruiting services. Here are some unranked recruits who Louisville fans should keep an eye on:

Darius Bazley – A 6’9″ forward from Cincinnati, Bazley is a versatile player who can score inside and out. He’s a good rebounder and shot-blocker, and he has the potential to develop into a very good all-around player.

Brad Calipari – The son of Kentucky Head Coach John Calipari Brad is a 6’0″ point guard who plays for state power Windsor high school He’s an excellent shooter and he has a High Basketball IQ. He’s not as big or as physically gifted as some other players, but he has the potential to be a very good player at the next level.

Tyler Herro – A 6’5″ shooting guard from Greenfield, Wisconsin, Herro is one of the best shooters in the country. He’s also a very good athlete and he has the potential to develop into a good all-around player.

Local recruits

To say that Louisville basketball has had a rough few years would be an understatement. After the firing of head coach Rick Pitino amid a recruiting scandal, the Cardinals have been trying to rebuild their image both on and off the court.

One of the ways they’ve been doing that is by recruiting local talent. Here are some of the top recruits from the Louisville area that you should keep an eye on.

David Johnson, 6’5” shooting guard from Trinity high school Johnson is one of the top-ranked recruits in the country and has already committed to Louisville. He’s a versatile player who can score from anywhere on the court.

Michael James, 6’9” Power Forward from Owensboro Catholic high school James is an athletic big man who can rebound and block shots He hasn’t yet decided where he’ll play college ball, but Louisville is one of his final three choices.

Dwayne Sutton, 6’5” small forward from Manual high school Sutton is another local product who has already committed to Louisville. He’s a scrappy player who does a little bit of everything on the court.

Out-of-state recruits

One of the best things about Louisville basketball is the passion that fans have for the game. And, when it comes to recruiting, fans are always eager to see which players the Coaching Staff is targeting.

In recent years Louisville has done a great job of recruiting players from all over the country. And, this year is no different as the Cardinals already have commitments from four players who hail from outside of Kentucky.

Here’s a look at some of the top out-of-state recruits that Louisville is targeting in the Class of 2020:

Jalen Johnson – A 6’9″ forward from Milwaukee, Johnson is considered one of the top prospects in the country. He’s a versatile player who can score inside and out, and he’s also an excellent rebounder. Louisville has been involved with Johnson for quite some time, and they are considered one of his favorite schools.

Moses Moody – A 6’6″ guard from Little Rock, Moody is another top prospect in the 2020 class. He’s a dynamic scorer who can also knock down shots from beyond the arc. Louisville has been on Moody’s radar for a while now, and they are one of his top schools.

Josh Green – A 6’6″ forward from Australia, Green is one of the most intriguing prospects in this class. He’s an excellent athlete with a high motor, and he’s also a very good defender. Louisville has already been in contact with Green, and they are hoping to get him on campus for a visit soon.

International recruits

The University of Louisville’s Men’s Basketball Program has been successfully recruiting top talent from around the world. In recent years ithe Cardinals have had players from Australia, Brazil, Canada, Congo, Czech Republic France, Germany, Lithuania, Nigeria, Senegal and Spain.

This year, the team has two international recruits: Aidan Igiehon, a 6-foot-10 power forward from Ireland; and Samuel Williamson, a 6-foot-7 small forward from Canada.

Igiehon is a consensus four-star recruit and is ranked as the No. 41 player in the ESPN 100 Class of 2019. Williamson is a three-star recruit and is ranked as the No. 112 player in the ESPN 100 Class of 2020.

Both recruits have the potential to make an immediate impact on the team and help Louisville compete for a National Championship

Transfer recruits

The Louisville Cardinals basketball team is always on the lookout for top recruits and this year they have their sights set on a few transfer players. Here are a few of the transfer recruits that the Cardinals are watching closely:

1. Devonte Green – Green is a 6’4″ guard from Indiana who played his first two collegiate seasons at Indiana University He averaged 8.9 points and 2.6 rebounds per game as a sophomore, and he will have two years of eligibility remaining after sitting out next season due to NCAA transfer rules.

2. D’Angelo Russell – Russell is a 6’5″ guard from Ohio State who played one season with the Buckeyes before declaring for the NBA draft He averaged 19.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game as a freshman, and he would be eligible to play immediately if he decides to transfer to Louisville.

3. Michael Porter Jr. – Porter is a 6’10” forward from Missouri who played just three games as a freshman before suffering a season-ending injury. He averaged 10.0 points and 6.7 rebounds per game in those three contests, and he would have three years of eligibility remaining if he transfers to Louisville.
