The training and preparation

Marian Baseball is on the Rise
Many programs across the country have been successful in recent years but none more so than Marian high school in Mishawaka, Indiana. The school has produced two Major League Baseball players in the last three years, John Holdzkom and Joe Musgrove, and currently has six former players in professional baseball

The training and preparation that the program’s student-athletes receive is a big reason for its success. The school’s Head Coach Mark Schenzel, played Professional Baseball for 10 years and is well-connected within the industry. He founded the program in 2001, and since then it has grown exponentially.

The Marian program has a few unique features that set it apart from other high school programs. First, all of the team’s games are played at Coveleski Stadium, home of the South Bend Silver Hawks minor League Baseball team. This gives the players a taste of what it’s like to play in a professional stadium.

Second, the team practices at night during the fall and winter months to avoid conflicts with other sports. This allows the players to get more reps in and get closer to game speed.

Third, Schenzel and his staff use data to help them make decisions about training and player development They track everything from how hard players are throwing to how often they are getting on base. This information helps them tailor their training program to each individual player’s needs.

Fourth, Marian teams have traditionally been very successful in nt play In addition to winning two State Championships (in 2006 and 2009), the program has won nine regional titles and five conference championships This success has helped attract top talent from around the area to come play for Marian.

The Marian Baseball Program is one of many success stories at the high school level. With good coaching, facilities, and fan support, high school programs can be a breeding ground for future professional players.

Why Marian Baseball is on the Rise

Heading into the 2019 baseball season there was a lot of excitement and optimism around the Marian University baseball program After all, the Sabres had posted back-to-back winning seasons for the first time in program history and were coming off their first ever appearance in the Midwest Collegiate Conference (MCC) tournament.

Now, after another successful season in which they once again reached the MCC tournament, it’s safe to say that Marian baseball is on the rise.

There are a number of reasons for the Sabres’ recent success, but perhaps the biggest one is that they have simply gotten better as a team. In each of the past three seasons, Marian has posted a higher team batting average a lower team ERA, and more wins than the previous year.

Additionally, the Sabres have also benefited from an increase in talent level. They have had several players drafted by MLB teams in recent years and they currently have a player (junior catcher Nick Burdi) who is widely considered to be one of the best prospects in all of college baseball

With everything that is going for them right now, it’s easy to see why Marian baseball is on the rise. And if they can continue to improve at even just a fraction of the rate they have over the past few years, there’s no telling how far they can go.
