The history of the Mercy Baseball Team

The Mercy baseball team can trace its origins back to the early days of the college. In fact, the team was founded in 1868, just two years after the college itself was established. The team initially played against local High School and club teams, but soon began to compete against other colleges as well.

Over the years, the team has experienced its share of ups and downs. However, in recent years the team has begun to experience a resurgence. In particular, the team has seen tremendous success in recent years under the leadership of Head Coach Steve Hernandez.

Under Coach Hernandez, the team has won two conference championships and made three appearances in the NCAA Division II tournament. The team has also produced a number of Major League Baseball players, including pitchers Jonathan Papelbon and Jesse Crain.

With its rich history and tradition of success, the Mercy baseball team is definitely a team on the rise!

Another key player for Mercy is first baseman Tony Marino, who was also named to the All-Conference team. Marino had a breakthrough season at the plate, hitting .341 with 8 home runs and 32 RBIs. He was also one of the Top Defensive first basemen in the conference, committing just 5 errors in 284 total chances.
