Michael Kay will join the ESPN Sunday Night Baseball broadcast team it was announced today. He will serve as the primary play-by-play voice for the weekly ESPN national telecast, joining analyst and former All-Star third baseman Aaron Boone.

ESPN announced today that Michael Kay will join the Sunday night baseball broadcast team. Kay, who currently serves as the play-by-play voice of the New York Yankees will team up with analyst and former Yankee Mark Teixeira to call select Sunday night baseball games this season.

“I am extremely excited to be joining ESPN’s Sunday Night baseball broadcast team ” said Kay. “It is truly a dream come true to be able to work with some of the best in the business on baseball’s biggest stage. I can’t wait to get started.”

Kay has been the play-by-play voice of the Yankees since 2002, and his partnership with Teixeira dates back to 2015 when they began working together on YES Network’s broadcasts of Yankees games The two have also worked together on ESPN Radio’s coverage of Major League Baseball including calling Playoff Games in 2017 and 2018.

Kay will make his Sunday Night Baseball debut on March 31 when the Boston Red Sox host the New York Yankees in a rematch of last year’s American League Championship Series He will also call Yankees-Red Sox games on April 14 and 28, as well as June 9.
