The finalists for this year’s award are:

2. Alexia Williams – Park Center High School
3. Madison Wadley – View High School
4. Mya Williams – Salle High School
5. Taylor Hanson – Eden Prairie High School

Paige Bueckers – guard from Hopkins High School

The Minnesota Miss Basketball finalists for 2022 have been announced and Paige Bueckers – a guard from Hopkins high school – is among the front-runners.

The 6-foot junior is the state’s leading scorer, averaging 27.8 points per game and is one of the top recruits in the country. She has already drawn interest from a number of major colleges, including Notre Dame Connecticut and Stanford.

Bueckers is widely considered to be one of the best players in the state, regardless of class. She was named a McDonald’s All-American last season and is a two-time Gatorade Player of the Year.

Kiera Johnson – forward from Park Center High School

Kiera Johnson, a 6-foot-1 forward from Park Center high school has been named one of 12 finalists for the 2022 Minnesota Miss Basketball award the Minnesota Girls’ Basketball Coaches Association announced Thursday.

The award is given to the state’s top senior girls’ basketball player as voted on by a panel of statewide media and coaches. The 12 finalists will be narrowed down to three finalists, who will be announced at a later date. The winner will be announced at the MGBCA awards banquet on April 17.

Mya Williams – guard from DeLaSalle High School

The top 12 senior girls basketball players in Minnesota have been announced as finalists for the 2022 Minnesota Miss basketball award, given annually to the state’s top player The finalists were chosen by a panel of statewide media members and announced Monday by the Minnesota basketball Coaches Association.

The other four finalists for Minnesota Miss Basketball are:

-Jenna Johnson, a senior at Apple Valley High School
-Taylor Heise, a senior at Red Wing High School
-Gabby Austin, a junior at Eastview High School
-Ashley Bates, a junior at Park Center High School

Johnson is also a college prospect and has received interest from several Division I schools.

The finalists for the 2022 Minnesota Miss Basketball award were announced Tuesday morning, with four players from the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area among the 10 finalists.

The winner will be announced at a later date.

The finalists are:

guard Maia Johnson of White Bear Lake who has averaged 18.4 points, 5.9 assists and 3.6 steals per game this season;

forward Sydnie Williams of Roseville, who has averaged 17.1 points, 12.5 rebounds and 4.0 blocks per game;

center Lizzy Arendt of Benilde-St. Margaret’s, who has averaged 16.2 points and 9.1 rebounds per game and

forward Brooke Schossow of Holy Family Catholic, who has averaged 19 points and 10 rebounds per game

Williams is a talented player who has been a key contributor to DeLaSalle’s success this season.

The Minnesota Miss Basketball Finalists for 2022 have been announced, and DeLaSalle’s Williams is one of the five players who has been selected.

Williams, a 6-foot-1 guard/forward, is averaging 17.7 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.7 steals per game for the Islanders this season. She has helped lead DeLaSalle to a 25-2 record and a berth in the Class AAA State Tournament

The other four finalists for Minnesota Miss Basketball are Minnehaha Academy’s Paige Bueckers, Park Center’s Mya Williams, Hopkins’ Kennedy Carlson and Centennial’s Jada Wright.
