Now, after a 39-year drought, the Golden Gophers are heading back to the big dance. The team received an at-large bid to the 64-team tournament and will face off against Louisville in the first round.
This is a huge achievement for a program that has been rebuilding since Head Coach John Anderson took over in 2002. Anderson has led the team to 15 straight winning seasons, but this is by far the biggest accomplishment of his tenure.
