The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) will be holding their annual Baseball Selection show on Tuesday, May 28. The show will be streamed live on the NAIA website at 7:00pm EST.
During the show, the NAIA will announce the field of 40 teams that will be competing in the 2019 Aia Baseball National Championship The tournament is set to begin on May 30 and will run through June 5.
This year’s Selection Show will be hosted by NAIA staff members Matt Yoklic and Travis TeAff. Yoklic is the Director of Championships and TeAff is the Assistant Director of Championships.

A number of factors are considered when determining at-large bids, including but not limited to: Strength of Schedule conference RPI, overall record, and recent performance.
Where will this year’s tournament be held?
This year’s tournament will take place in Lewiston, Idaho at Harris Field.

The first games of the tournament will begin on May 23rd.
How the Aia baseball selection show works
The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) baseball selection show is here! This is how it will work.
The NAIA will release the names of the 32 teams that have been selected to participate in the national tournament on Tuesday, May 28 at 5:00 PM CST. The selection show will be streamed live on the NAIA website.
The 32 teams that have been selected will be placed into four, eight-team double-elimination brackets. The Opening Round of the tournament will be held at campus sites on May 30-June 1. The winners of each opening round bracket will advance to the final site of the tournament, which is located in Lewiston, Idaho.
The four team bracket winners from the opening round will advance to Lewiston and compete in a double-elimination format until two teams remain. These two teams will then play each other in a best-of-three series to determine the National Champion

In its current format, the show airs on ESPNU and features four regionally-based announcers who reveal the teams in each of the eight World Series brackets. The show generally runs for two hours.
The first NAIA Baseball Selection Show aired in 2000 and was hosted by Current Sports Network (now CSN). It was a one-hour show that revealed the field for that year’s World Series In 2001, the show expanded to 90 minutes and moved to ESPN2. The following year, it expanded again to two hours and moved to ESPNU, where it has remained ever since.
Over the years, the show has undergone several format changes, but its basic structure has remained largely unchanged. It is currently one of the most anticipated events on the college baseball calendar.
