The challenges of Naperville Central Baseball
Since its founding in 1957, Naperville Central Baseball has been one of the most successful programs in the state of Illinois. In fact, the program has won more conference championships than any other team in Illinois.
However, the success of the program has not come without challenges. One of the biggest challenges faced by Naperville Central Baseball is the lack of funding. The school does not have a baseball field of its own and must share a field with the football team. This causes scheduling conflicts and often limits the amount of practice time the team has.
Another challenge faced by Naperville Central Baseball is the competition within its conference. The conference is made up of some of the most successful baseball programs in Illinois, including New Trier, Glenbrook North, and Wheaton North This makes it difficult for Naperville Central to compete for conference championships on a regular basis.
Despite these challenges, Naperville Central Baseball has still been one of the most successful programs in Illinois. The team has won nine conference championships and made seven trips to the State Tournament including two appearances in the state championship game.
