##Keywords: water, soil, houseplants, container gardens
##Expansion:
One of the most important things you can do for your houseplants is to water them properly. Over-watering and under-watering are both common problems that can lead to plant stress and even death. Follow these tips to ensure that your plants get the right amount of water:

-Check the soil before watering. The soil should be dry to the touch before you water your plants.
-Water deeply and evenly. Water your plants slowly and evenly until water begins to run out of the bottom of the pot. This will help ensure that the entire root system gets wet.
-Don’t let your plants sit in water. Remove any excess water from saucers or trays after watering so that your plants don’t sit in wet soil
