2019 NBA Mock Draft: Round 1

The 2019 NBA Mock Draft is out and we’ve got all the information you need to know about the top prospects Round 1 of the draft will be held on June 20th and we’ve got the latest scoop on who will be going where.

Zion Williamson

Zion Williamson the projected No. 1 pick in the 2019 NBA draft has been compared to Lebron James and Shaquille O’Neal. The 6-foot-7, 285-pound forward averaged 22.6 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.1 blocks per game as a freshman at Duke last season.

Ja Morant

Ja Morant, the 6’3″ lead guard from Murray State is one of the most electric players in college basketball He has unbelievable quickness and shiftiness with the ball, which allows him to get by defenders at will. When he gets into the lane, he’s an excellent finisher around the basket and can also make plays for others. In addition to his scoring ability, Morant is also a very good rebounder for his position. He averaged 24.5 points, 10.0 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game this season.

RJ Barrett

RJ Barrett is a 6’7” small forward from Duke University He is widely considered to be one of the best players in the 2019 Draft Class He is an athletic wing who can score in a variety of ways. He is a good shooter and has the ability to finish at the rim. He is also a good passer and rebounder. Barrett is expected to be a high lottery pick in the 2019 NBA Draft

Coby White

Coby White is a 6’5” point guard from North Carolina who is widely considered one of the best prospects in the 2019 NBA Draft He is an explosive scorer with a smooth jumper, and he has the potential to be a very good playmaker at the next level. White is projected to be a lottery pick in the 2019 NBA draft

De’Andre Hunter

With the 14th pick in the 2019 NBA Mock Draft the Boston Celtics select De’Andre Hunter from the University of Virginia

A 6-foot-7 wing, Hunter is a versatile scorer who can shoot from anywhere on the court. He averaged 15.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game as a sophomore, helping lead Virginia to a National Championship

Hunter is an excellent 3-point shooter, making 42.0 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc last season. He’s also a capable rebounder and defender, making him a well-rounded player that should be able to contribute right away in the NBA.

Darius Garland

Darius Garland is an American college basketball player for the Vanderbilt Commodores of the Eastern Conference (SEC). He played High School basketball for Brentwood Academy in Brentwood, Tennessee. He was a consensus five-star recruit and ranked among the top 10 players in his class. Garland committed to Vanderbilt over offers from Baylor, Indiana, Iowa State Kansas, Kentucky, and UCLA.

As a freshman at Vanderbilt in 2018–19, Garland averaged 16.2 points, 3.8 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game, and was named SEC Newcomer of the Year. After appearing in five games, he tore his meniscus and missed the rest of the season.

Jarrett Culver

With the 6th pick in the 2019 NBA draft the Phoenix Suns select Jarrett Culver out of Texas Tech

Culver is a 6’6” wing who can play both ends of the court. He’s a great shooter, averaging 18 points per game while shooting 46% from the field and 33% from three-point range Culver is also a good defender, averaging 1.5 steals per game.

Culver will be a good complementary piece to Devin Booker in the Suns’ backcourt. Booker is Phoenix’s best scorer, and Culver will provide much-needed shooting and defense.

Cam Reddish

With the 2019 NBA Draft just around the corner, it’s time to take a look at how things might play out. In this first round Mock Draft we’ll be projecting picks 1-14.

1. New Orleans Pelicans – Zion Williamson
The Pelicans are reportedly “enamored” with Williamson and appear to be leaning towards taking him with the top overall pick. Williamson is an elite athlete with generational upside and should be a franchise cornerstone for years to come.

2. Memphis Grizzlies – Ja Morant
Morant is one of the most electric players in this year’s draft class and should be a perfect fit next to fellow young building block Jaren Jackson Jr. Morant is an elite scorer and playmaker who should have no trouble adjusting to the NBA game

3. New York Knicks – RJ Barrett
Barrett is arguably the most polished player in this year’s draft class and has all the tools to be a successful player at the next level. His combination of size, strength, and scoring ability make him a tough matchup for opposing defenses.

4. Los Angeles Lakers – Darius Garland
Garland entered college basketball with high expectations but his season was cut short due to injury. Garland is an excellent shooter with good size and playmaking ability. He projects as a perfect complement to Lebron James in the Lakers’ backcourt.

5. Cleveland Cavaliers – Coby White
White is one of the best shooters in this year’s Draft Class and he has good size for a point guard at 6’5″. He’s shown flashes of being able to run an offense but will need to develop his decision-making skills before he can reach his full potential.

6. Phoenix Suns – De’Andre Hunter
Hunter is a well-rounded player with good size (6’7″) and shooting ability (42% from three-point range). He projects as a versatile defender who can guard multiple positions and he should be able to step intoPhoenix’s starting lineup immediately.

Sekou Doumbouya

Sekou Doumbouya, PF, 6’9, 230 lbs, Guinea

One of the younger prospects in this class, Doumbouya just turned 18 in December. He has excellent size and length for a modern NBA Power Forward at 6’9 with a 7’2 wingspan. Doumbouya is also a very good athlete who is quick off his feet and can play above the rim. He is currently playing professionally in the French League where he is averaging 7.8 points and 3.1 rebounds in 19.4 minutes per game.

Doumbouya is still very raw offensively as he is mostly relying on his athleticism and length to finish around the basket at this point. He does have a decent shooting stroke from three-point range but is only converting on 26.7 percent of his attempts from deep this season.Doumbouya will need to improve his skill level on offense as well as his decision making if he wants to reach his full potential as he has a tendency to be very turnover prone at times.

On the defensive end, Doumbouya has all the tools to be an elite defender in the NBA with his combination of size, length, athleticism, and instincts. He does a good job of using his length to bother shooters and block shots as he is averaging 1 block per game this season. Doumbouya will need to add strength to his frame in order to be able to defend bigger physical players down low but that should come in time as he matures physically.

Overall, Sekou Doumbouya is an intriguing prospect due to his size, length, athleticism, and defensive potential but will need time to develop his skill level on offense before he can reach his full potential at the NBA level.

Nasir Little

Nasir Little is a 6’6″ small forward from the University of North Carolina He is projected to go late in the first round or early in the second round of the 2019 NBA Draft
