In an Instagram post from February 2019, NBA Youngboy announced that he had reconnected with the mother of his child, Jazlyn Mychelle. The two had been estranged since 2017, when NBA Youngboy was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Jazlyn had been raising their son, Kentrell Jr., on her own since then.

In the post, NBA Youngboy said that he and Jazlyn had talked on the phone for the first time in two years and that they were planning to meet in person. He also announced that he was going to start paying child support
