North Dakota’s baseball scene is heating up, with the Fargo Moorhead RedHawks and the Bismarck Larks both calling the state home. The RedHawks are a minor league team that plays in the American Association, while the Larks are a college summer team that plays in the Northwoods League Both teams are having success on the field, with the RedHawks currently in first place in their division and the Larks leading their division.

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks are a professional baseball team based in Fargo, North Dakota They are members of the American Association of Independent professional baseball which is not affiliated with Major League Baseball The RedHawks play their home games at Newman Outdoor Field, which opened in 1996 and has a capacity of 5,421 fans.

The RedHawks first began play in the Northern League in 1997 as an expansion team. The team was successful on the field from the start, winning the League Championship in their inaugural season. In 2005, the Northern League ceased operations and the RedHawks joined the American Association.

The RedHawks have won four league championships (1997, 2000, 2014, 2015) and have made eight playoff appearances (1997-2000, 2005-2006, 2012-2015). The team is currently managed by Michael Schlact and plays its home games at Newman Outdoor Field.

The Bismarck Larks

The Bismarck Larks are a minor League Baseball team based in Bismarck, North Dakota The Larks play in the Northwoods League a collegiate summer baseball league The team was founded in 1993 and has been playing baseball in Bismarck ever since.

The Larks play their home games at Bismarck Municipal Ballpark, which is located on the west side of Bismarck. The ballpark has a capacity of 5,000 people and features a Turf Field

In 2018, the Larks won the Northwoods League Championship defeating the Eau Claire Express in the Championship Series The Larks have made the playoffs four times in their history and have won two championships.

The Williston Oilmen

The Williston Oilmen are a Baseball Team in North Dakota that is part of the summer Collegiate Baseball Northwoods League. The team was founded in 2011 and is based in Williston, ND. The Oilmen play their Home Games at District Stadium, which is also home to the Williston High School baseball team

The Oilmen are one of two teams in North Dakota that play in the Northwoods League, the other being the Bismarck Larks. The oil-rich Bakken region has helped to spur Williston’s growth in recent years and the city is now home to a burgeoning baseball scene. In addition to the Oilmen, Williston also has a minor league affiliate of the Minnesota Twins the WillistonADhlings.

The Oilmen have been successful on the field since their inception, winning two Northwoods League championships in 2013 and 2015. The team has also produced a number of Major League baseball players including Houston Astros pitcher Collin McHugh and Miami Marlins pitcher Adam Conley.

The Minot Metros

Once a minor league baseball powerhouse, the Minot Metros are poised to make a comeback in 2019. The team has brought in some top talent and is drawing fans from all over the state.

The Metros play their home games at Memorial Stadium, which is located in the heart of Minot. The stadium has a capacity of 5,000 people and features a state-of-the-art lighting system and artificial turf.

In 2019, the Metros are scheduled to play 50 home games, including 10 against their chief rivals, the Bismarck Larks. Tickets for all home games start at just $5.

The Dickinson Roughriders
