History

Orix Baseball was founded in 1936 as a company team for the Kansai-based Otsuka Pharmaceutical. The team became independent in 1950, and joined the Pacific League in 1965.

The Buffaloes have won the League Championship seven times (1966, 1973, 1976, 1988, 2002, 2004, 2016) and have appeared in the Japan Series twelve times. They have also won the Asia Series twice (2007, 2012). The team plays its home games at Hotto Motto Field Kobe.
