The SeaWolves were founded in 1995 as the Erie Steamers, and were members of the Pennsylvania State League until 2000 when they joined the Atlantic League. After one season in the Atlantic League, they became members of the Eastern League.
In eleven seasons, the SeaWolves have made the playoffs six times and have won three division championships. In 2010, they won their first ever Eastern League Championship
