Three Purdue NBA Players Who Had Promising Careers
In today’s post, we’ll be taking a look at three Purdue NBA players who had promising careers. All three of these players were drafted in the first round of the NBA draft and all had successful collegiate careers. However, their NBA careers didn’t quite pan out the way they probably would have liked.
Glenn Robinson III
Glenn Robinson III was born in Gary, Indiana, and was a Standout Player for the Michigan Wolverines before being drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the 2014 NBA Draft He was then traded to the Philadelphia 76ers, where he played for two seasons. He signed with the Indiana Pacers in 2016, and he has been with the team ever since. Robinson’s best season came in 2017-18, when he averaged 12.6 points per game
E’Twaun Moore
E’Twaun Moore was drafted by the Boston Celtics with the 55th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft He played sparingly during his rookie season, averaging just 1.7 points and 0.5 assists per game in 11 total minutes of action. However, he began to see re Playing time during his second season, appearing in 79 games (six starts) and averaging 5.8 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game
During his third season, Moore saw his role continue to increase, appearing in 80 games (40 starts) and averaging 10.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.0 steals per game while shooting a career-high 46 percent from the field and 41 percent from three-point range He had several strong performances throughout the season, including a 25-point effort against the Charlotte Hornets in January and a 30-point outing against the Brooklyn Nets in April.
Following a strong third season, Moore seemed poised for a breakout year in 2014-15. However, he struggled with injuries and inconsistency throughout the year and saw his numbers dip to 8.3 points and 2.1 assists per game while shooting just 39 percent from the field and 32 percent from three-point range. He did have some bright moments during the year, including a 23-point performance against the Cleveland Cavaliers in February and a 30-point outing against the Nets in April, but overall it was a disappointing season for Moore.
JaJuan Johnson
JaJuan Johnson was drafted by the Boston Celtics in the first round of the 2011 NBA draft He was traded to the Indiana Pacers where he played two seasons before being traded to the New Orleans Pelicans in 2013. Johnson was waived by the Pelicans in 2014 and is currently a free agent He has also played for the Jiangsu Dragons of the Chinese Basketball Association
