Introducing the Ramapo Baseball Roster

The Ramapo baseball team is one to Watch This Season With an impressive lineup of players, the team is sure to be a force to reckon with on the diamond.

Leading the charge for the team is pitcher ace Jake Stephens. Stephens, a junior, has been with the program for three years and has developed into a top-notch player. His fastball has been clocked at 90 miles per hour and he also has alethal curveball that has baffled hitters all season long In addition to Stephens, the pitching staff is rounded out by junior southpaw Matt Goldberg and senior right-hander Nick Buonacore. Both Goldberg and Buonacore have been key contributors to the team’s success this season.

The Ramapo offense is no slouch either. The heart of the order features seniors Mike Licursi and Brandon Sacco. Licursi, who plays first base, is batting .333 with two home runs and 23 RBIs. Sacco, who mans second base, is hitting .302 with one home run and 19 RBIs. Right fielder Tom Curcio has also been swinging a hot bat as of late, batting .288 with four home runs and 17 RBIs. These three seniors have provided the majority of the offensive firepower for the team thus far this season.

With a strong pitching staff and a potent lineup, the Ramapo Baseball Team is poised for a deep postseason run this year. Be sure to catch them in action if you can!

The team to watch This Season

The Ramapo baseball team is one to keep an eye on this season. The team is stacked with strong hitters and a pitching staff that can shut down any lineup.

Some of the Key Players to watch on the team are:

Joey Harrison – A senior captain and four-year starter, Harrison is a versatile player who can play any position on the field. He is a leadoff hitter who uses his speed to his advantage, often reaching base and then stealing second and third. His defense is outstanding, and he has a strong arm that can catch runners trying to take an extra base.

Brandon Walsh – Another senior captain, Walsh is the team’s ace pitcher. He has a fastball that tops out at 90 mph and a lethal curveball that has baffled hitters for years. He also plays first base when he’s not pitching, and he is one of the team’s best hitters.

Mike Diallo – A junior third baseman, Diallo is another one of the team’s top hitters. He has a powerful swing and has hit many home runs over his career. He also plays shortstop when Harrison needs a day off from defense.

This team has the potential to make a deep run in the playoffs, so be sure to catch them in action this season!

The Starting Lineup

This season, the Ramapo high school baseball team is one to watch. The team is led by a strong starting lineup that can hit, field, and pitch with the best of them. Here’s a look at the lineup:

3. Ken Griffey Jr. – right field

5. Roger Clemens – pitcher

The Pitchers

The Ramapo baseball team has a strong roster this season, but their pitchers are especially noteworthy. The team’s top pitcher, John Doe is a senior who has been pitching for Ramapo since he was a freshman. He has a fastball that tops out at 95 miles per hour and a sharp curveball that has fooled batters for years. His pitching style is aggressive and he is not afraid to challenge hitters.

Doe is joined by another senior, Jane Smith, who is also a four-year varsity pitcher. Smith does not have the same velocity as Doe, but she makes up for it with her excellent control and movement on her pitches. She also has a very deceptive delivery, which makes it hard for batters to pick up the ball.

Rounding out the pitching staff is sophomore Sarah Jones, who has already shown promise in her young career. Jones has a plus fastball and a solid changeup that has baffled hitters so far. She will be one of the key pitchers to watch this season

The Catchers

The Ramapo Baseball Team has high hopes for the season, and a large part of that success will depend on the play of the team’s catchers.

The starting catcher is senior Mike Brennan, who has been with the team for four years. He is a gifted athlete with a strong arm and good instincts. His leadership will be vital to the team’s success.

Backing up Brennan will be junior Jake Stinson, who is new to the team this year. He is a hard worker with a good understanding of the game.

The third catcher on the roster is freshman John Carlino, who has impressed the coaches with his skills. He will be used sparingly this season, but could see re Playing time as he gains experience.

The Infielders

The Ramapo High School Baseball team is looking very strong this season. They have a deep and experienced lineup that should be able to compete with any team in the state. Here is a look at the infielders on the roster:

1B – Jeffery Gibson: Gibson is a four-year starter and one of the best power hitters in the state. He has hit over .400 in each of his last three seasons and has thirty-eight Home Runs in his career. He has signed to play baseball at the University of Michigan next year.

2B – Alex Hernandez: Hernandez is a three-year starter who is an excellent hitter and fielder. He batted .395 last season and was named First Team All-State. He has good speed and stole nineteen bases last year.

SS – Luke Jensen: Jensen is a four-year starter and one of the best Defensive Players in the state. He has excellent range and a strong arm. He was named First Team All-State last year after hitting .425 with four home runs and twenty stolen bases

3B – Mike Murphy: Murphy is a three-year starter who is an excellent hitter and fielder. He batted .395 last season and was named First Team All-State. He has good speed and stole nineteen bases last year.

The Outfielders

The Ramapo high school baseball team is set to have a great season this year, and a big part of that success will come from the players in the outfield. Here are the three people who will be patrolling the outfield for Ramapo this season:

Senior Captain Matt Fernandez is a four-year varsity starter and has been one of the best players on the team throughout his high school career. He’s a versatile player who can play all three field positions and he’s also a threat at the plate, where he’s hitting .300 so far this season.

Junior Jake Shapiro is another player who can play all over the outfield, and he brings a lot of speed to the team. He’s also been hitting well this season, with a batting average of .333.

Sophomore Mikey Cortese rounds out the group and is primarily an outfielder, but can also pitch if needed. He’s been one of the best hitters on the team so far this season, with a batting average of .400.

These three players will be key to Ramapo’s success this season, and they’ll be fun to watch as they help lead the team to victory.

The Bench

The Ramapo baseball team is stacked this season, with a deep bench of talented players. Here are the players to watch on the team’s bench this season:

All three of these players are versatile and can play multiple positions which will come in handy during the course of a long baseball season They all have a strong bat, and will provide valuable depth for the team. The Coaching Staff

The Ramapo baseball team is led by Head Coach Jake Canfield, who is entering his 4th season at the helm of the program. Canfield, a native of Cranford, NJ, was a four-year member of the Kean University baseball team During his collegiate career he compiled a .320 batting average with 16 home runs and 108 RBIs. Upon graduation, he spent two seasons as an Assistant Coach at Kean before taking over the reigns at Ramapo in 2016.

Canfield is joined on the Coaching Staff by assistant coaches Mike Dolan and Mike Benedetto. Dolan, a Mahwah resident and graduate of Don Bosco Preparatory high school is in his 2nd season with the program. Benedetto, a Wyckoff resident and graduate of Ramapo high school is entering his 1st season with the team.

Rounding out the coaching staff are Volunteer Assistant coaches Marc Zadell and Chris Hockenbury. Zadell, a Fair Lawn resident and graduate of Penn State University is entering his 4th season with the program. Hockenbury, a Mahwah resident and graduate of Rutgers University – Newark, is in his 1st season with the team.

The Schedule

This season, the Ramapo Baseball Team is set to face off against some of the best teams in the league. They have a tough schedule ahead of them, but they are up for the challenge. Here is a look at their schedule for the upcoming season
