Robot wows crowd
A robot showed off its basketball skills by sinking four shots in a row from half-court to the delight of the crowd at a High School game in San Francisco
The humanoid machine, known as Cassie, made the shots during halftime of a game between two local high schools on Tuesday night.
Cassie, which is about the size of a child and weighs 110 pounds (50 kg), belongs to Agility Robotics, a startup based in Albany, Oregon.
The company’s co-founder and CEO, Damion Shelton, told CNN that the robot was not programmed to make any specific shots, but rather was designed to show off its balance and coordination.
“What we wanted to do is show that robots can be agile,” Shelton said. “They don’t have to be big and bulky to do things like this.”
Shelton said Cassie is still in the early stages of development and is not yet available for sale. But he said the company plans to eventually market the robot for use in homes, hospitals and factories.
Robot’s shooting prowess
A robot wowed a crowd recently with its incredible shooting prowess, nailing shot after shot from all over the basketball court
The robot, named swish, was developed by a team of engineers and roboticists from MIT and Northeastern University. Swish is equipped with sensors that help it calculate the trajectory of a shot, and it can make split-second adjustments to ensure the accuracy of its shots.
Swish’s shooting display was so impressive that many people in the crowd were left wondering whether the robot could one day make it to the NBA. While that may be some ways off, there’s no doubt that swish’s shooting skills are incredible, and it’s sure to wow crowds for years to come.
Robot’s amazing accuracy
A robot stunned a crowd recently by sinking an impressive 94 percent of its shots during a basketball exhibition
The machine, named Keenan, was created by students at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, and is designed to control a wheelchair using only its shooting accuracy
During the game, Keenan made 28 shots from the Free Throw Line and 10 from beyond the three-point arc. It also managed to score a layup.
Keenan’s accuracy was especially impressive given that it was shooting against two human defenders.
The robot’s creators say that their goal is to eventually have Keenan compete in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest
Robot’s shooting display
A robot took the Basketball World by storm when it sank shot after shot in front of a packed crowd. The impressive display of shooting prowess had people on their feet, cheering and applauding the machine’s every make.
The robot’s performance was all the more amazing considering that it was pitted against some of the best human shooters in the world. The robot’s ability to consistently hit nothing but net from long range amazed everyone in attendance.
Even though the robot won the shooting contest, the real winner was basketball itself. The incredible display of shooting prowess by both the human and robotic contestants showed just how far the sport has come.
Robot’s skills on display
A robot wowed a crowd recently with its excellent shooting skills, nailing shot after shot from the three-point line The robot’s performance was all the more impressive given that it was using a basketball hoop that was taller than most human hoops.
It’s not clear who built the robot or where the footage of its shooting display was filmed, but it’s safe to say that this robot has a very bright future in the world of basketball.
Robot’s shooting ability
A robot shooting a basketball and impressing a crowd is not something you see every day. This robot, named Sophia, was created by Hanson Robotics and was on display at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas.
During the event, Sophia was asked to shoot a basketball from Half Court The robot lined up the shot and then made the basket, to the delight of the crowd.
This isn’t the first time Hanson Robotics has shown off Sophia’s shooting ability. Last year, the robot made an appearance on “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon where it also made a successful half-court shot
While Hanson Robotics says that Sophia is still a work in progress, it’s clear that the robot has some impressive skills. It’ll be interesting to see what else this robot can do in the future.
