Introduction

Thank you for your interest in trying out for the Stix baseball team We are looking for talented and hardworking players to join our team for the 2021 season.

In order to be considered for a spot on the team, all players must attend a tryout session. At tryouts, players will be evaluated on their skills and abilities. The Coaching Staff will use this information to determine who will be offered a spot on the team.

If you are offered a spot on the team, you will be expected to commit to attending all practices and games. You will also be expected to abide by the team rules and guidelines.

What to expect

Each year, we hold open tryouts for players ages 7-18 who are interested in playing competitive travel baseball Players will be evaluated on their baseball skills and athleticism. The evaluation will include a timed 60-yard dash fielding and throwing drills, and hitting off a tee and live pitching. Based on the tryout results, players will be selected for our various teams.

If you are selected to play on a team, you can expect to practice two to three times per week and play in one to two tournaments per month during the season (March-July). Our teams typically play in tournaments in the Greater Cincinnati area, but some travel is required for out-of-state tournaments.

The process

The tryout process for Stix Baseball is designed to give every player a fair opportunity to make the team We want to see what each player can do, and we will make every effort to ensure that each player has a chance to show us what they can do.

There are three parts to the tryout process:
1) The initial evaluation, where we will take a look at each player’s skills and determine if they are a good fit for our team.
2) The team scrimmage, where we will put players into game situations and see how they perform.
3) The final interviews, where we will talk to players and their families about their commitment to the team.

-A complete physical (including the front and back of your insurance card)

-Two copies of your player contract (one for you and one for us)

Important information

The Stix will be having their annual open tryouts for the 2021 season on Saturday, August 1st at 10 am at the Warrior Baseball Academy.
All positions will be open for competition and spots on the roster are limited.
Players must be between the ages of 9 and 14 as of April 30th, 2021 to be eligible.
The registration fee is $20 per player, and each player will receive a t-shirt.
