Freshman right-hander Bryce Miller got the start for Texas A&M, and he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up two runs on four hits. He was relieved by junior left-hander Jonathan Childress, who pitched 3.1 scoreless innings while allowing just two hits. Texas A&M got on the board first in the bottom of the second inning when senior first baseman Hunter Coleman hit a solo home run to left field The home run was Coleman’s ninth of the season and put the Aggies up 1-0.

In the bottom of the third inning, sophomore right fielder Logan Foster singled to right field to score junior center fielder Zach DeLoach from second base and extend Texas A&M’s lead to 2-0.

LSU got on the board in the top of the fourth inning when sophomore third baseman Chris Reid hit a two-run home run to left field, cutting Texas A&M’s lead to 2-1.

The Aggies answered right back in the bottom of the fourth inning when freshman shortstop Braden Shewmake hit a two-run Home Run to left field, putting Texas A&M back up by two runs, 4-2.

Texas A&M scored their final run of the game in the bottom of the sixth inning when Foster singled to right field to score junior second baseman Michael Helman from second base and make it a 5-2 ballgame.

That would be all the scoring either team would do as Texas A&M went on to win by a final score of 5-2.
