The league was created in 2006 by Pleasanton native and basketball coach Chris Stevens. Stevens saw a need for a local youth Basketball League that could offer year-round competition and skill development for young players With the help of some local parents and coaches, Stevens founded the Tri-Valley Basketball Association

Since its inception, the TVBA has produced many talented players who have gone on to play at the collegiate and professional levels.
