What a time to be alive! The UIL State Baseball Tournament is finally here and we could not be more excited. Every year, the best teams in Texas come together to compete for the state championship and this year is no different. From the powerhouse programs to the Cinderella stories, there is something for everyone at this year’s tournament.

So, without further ado, let’s take a look at the teams that are competing this year. In the Class 6A bracket, we have perennial powerhouses like Austin Westlake and Georgetown, who are looking to make a run at the title. Also in the mix are first-time qualifiers like Corpus Christi Flour Bluff and Pearland Dawson, who are looking to make a name for themselves on the big stage.

In Class 5A, we have defending champions CanyonRandall looking to repeat, while teams like Corpus Christi Moody and Abilene Wylie are looking to dethrone them. Also in the mix are newcomers like Northside Brennan and East Bernard, who will be looking to make some Noise in their first trip to state.

Class 4A is always one of the most competitive brackets and this year is no different. Defending champion Corpus Christi Hooks return looking to repeat, while teams like Boerne Champion and Canyon make their case as contenders. Also in the field are La Grange and Brock, who always seem to find their way into contention come tournament time.

As always, the Class 3A bracket is loaded with talent as well. Defending champion Llano looks to repeat, while perennial powers like Wall and Wimberley look to take them down. Newcomers like Lindale Pine Treeand Salado will also be looking to make some noise in their first trip to state.

Last but not least is Class 2A, which features two-time defending champion Shiner looking to make it three in a row. But they will have their work cut out for them as teams like Hallettsville Brahmasand Refugio Bobcats look to dethrone them. Also in the mix are Eastland Mavericksand Ballinger Bearcats, who always seem to find themselves in contention come tournament time.

How the tournament works

The UIL State Baseball Tournament is a double-elimination tournament. This means that a team must lose two games in order to be eliminated from the tournament. The tournament consists of four rounds, with each round having a different number of teams.

The first round has 16 teams, the second has 8, the third has 4, and the championship round has 2. The first three rounds are played at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Texas, while the championship round is played at Disch-Falk Field in Austin, Texas.

In order to make it to the State Tournament a team must first win their district tournament District tournaments are single-Nation Tournaments meaning that a team must lose one game in order to be eliminated. The winner of each district tournament advances to the corresponding region tournament.

Region tournaments are also single-elimination tournaments. The winners of each region tournament advance to the State Tournament

The Austin Westlake Chaparrals will be looking to defend their state title, and they’ll be up against some tough competition. The Cypress Ranch Mustangs are one of the hottest teams in the state, and they’ll be looking to take home the crown. The Flower Mound Marcus Marauders are also a force to be reckoned with, and they’ll be looking to make a run at the title.

The history of the tournament

The history of the tournament goes back to 1947 when San Angelo won the first ever championship. Since then, the tournament has been held every year except for 1948 and 2020. From 1947-1958, only four teams competed in the tournament. In 1959, that number increased to eight and then to sixteen in 1974. The current format of the tournament is a double-elimination style bracket with eight teams competing.

The UIL state Baseball Tournament is one of the most highly anticipated events in Texas every year. High School baseball fans from all over the state flock to Austin to watch the best teams in Texas compete for a chance to be crowned State Champions

The ticket information for the tournament

The much-anticipated UIL State Baseball Tournament is finally here, and we have all the ticket information you need to know to attend the games! General admission tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students, and they can be purchased at the gate or online. Gates will open one hour before the first game of the day, and parking is free. If you can’t make it to the stadium, all games will be broadcast live on FOX Sports Southwest.

The UIL State baseball tournament is finally here and we have your TV and radio broadcast information so that you don’t miss a second of the action. The tournament will be held Thursday, May 23rd through Saturday, May 25th at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Texas.

On Thursday, May 23rd, Fox Sports Southwest will televise the first Game Live at noon CT followed by Fox College Sports Pacific at 3:00pm CT. The second game on Thursday will air live on Fox college sports Atlantic at 6:30pm CT.

On Friday, May 24th, Fox sports Southwest will televise the first game live at 11:00am CT followed by Fox college sports Pacific at 2:00pm CT. The second game on Friday will air live on Fox college sports Atlantic at 5:00pm CT.
