The 2020 Utes baseball schedule Notes and Highlights
The Utah Utes Baseball Team is excited to reveal its 2020 schedule. This year’s schedule includes some new challenges, as well as some old favorites. Here are some notes and highlights:
The Utes will open the season at home against the BYU Cougars on February 14th. This will be the first time these two in-state rivals have met on the diamond since 2016.
Utah will then travel to Arizona to take on the Wildcats in a three-game series. The Utes haven’t played Arizona since 2017, when they took two out of three games.
After a short break, the Utes will host Gonzaga for a four-game series. This will be Gonzaga’s first ever trip to Utah.
Next up, the Utes will hit the road for a tough eight-game stretch against UCLA, USC, and Oregon State The Beavers will be a particularly tough opponent, as they are currently ranked No. 1 in the nation by Baseball America
Following that road trip, the Utes will return home for a five-game homestand against Washington State and Stanford. The Cougars will be looking to revenge their loss from last year’s series, while the Cardinal are always a tough opponent.
The final highlight of the schedule is a three-game set at home against rival BYU. This series always brings out the best in both teams, so it should be a great way to end the Regular Season
