Weight State is excited to announce that their Baseball team has made it to the playoffs! This is a great accomplishment for the team and the school. Here are some things you should know about the playoffs.
As the regular season comes to a close, the Weight State baseball team is preparing for their post-season run. The team has had a successful season with a record of 26-14. They are currently in second place in their conference and are set to face off against the conference leader in the first round of the playoffs.
The team is led by senior captain Jake Wilkinson. Jake has been a key player for the team all season, hitting .338 with 4 home runs and 26 RBIs. He has also been stellar on defense, making numerous highlight-reel catches in center field. Other key contributors for the team include pitcher Matt Johnson, who has a record of 8-3 with a 2.48 ERA, and first baseman Alex Walters, who is hitting .305 with 9 home runs and 37 RBIs.
