What is the Loudest Stadium in the NFL?
The title of this blog post is pretty self explanatory. We are going to take a look at what is the loudest stadium in the NFL.
Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks have the loudest stadium in the NFL, and it’s not even close. On December 2, 2013, against the New Orleans Saints, the fans at CenturyLink Field set the world record for loudest crowd roar at a stunning 137.6 decibels. To put that into perspective, that’s roughly the noise level of a jet taking off from 100 feet away.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs are the loudest team in the NFL, according to a new study. The research, which was conducted by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, found that Arrowhead Stadium reached 142.2 decibels during a game against the Oakland Raiders in 2014, making it the loudest stadium in the league.
The study also found that Chiefs fans are particularly loud when their team is on defense, as they reach an average noise level of 137.5 decibels. In comparison, fans of the Seattle Seahawks, who are known for their “12th man” tradition, only reach an average noise level of 112.6 decibels when their team is on defense.
New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints have the loudest stadium in the NFL, according to a recent study. The Saints’ home, the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, was measured at 133.0 decibels during a game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in September of 2018. That noise level is equivalent to the sound of a jet engine taking off.
Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers have the loudest stadium in the NFL, with fans regularly registering decibel levels above 130. The team’s faithful supporters have been known to set off earthquake-measuring seismometers, and they once caused a minor rockslide while celebrating a game-winning touchdown.
Denver Broncos
Sports Authority Field at Mile High, home of the Denver Broncos, is widely considered to be the loudest stadium in the NFL. The fans are so passionate and love their team so much that they have set the Guinness World Record for the loudest crowd roar at an outdoor stadium. On September 6th, 2013, they reached a deafening 136.6 decibels during a game against the Indianapolis Colts.
