The Bills have received two nominations for the Pro Football Hall of Fame including Mike Stratton and Steve Tasker and have had seven former head coaches enter the Hall: Lou Saban, Chuck Knox, Marv Levy, Hank Bullough, Kay Stephenson, Wade Phillips, and Rex Ryan. Ralph Wilson was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2009. Following Wilson’s death in 2014 at age 95, Terry Pegula was given controlling interest of the franchise; which he purchased outright for $1.4 billion on October 8th, 2014; becoming its first owner outside of Wilson’s family since 1963.
