Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills are a professional American football team based in the Buffalo–Niagara Falls metropolitan area. The Bills compete in the National Football League, as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference East division. The team plays their home games at New Era Field in Orchard Park, New York. The Bills are the only team that does not have cheerleaders.
Chicago Bears
Although the Chicago Bears are one of the most iconic and popular teams in the NFL, they are also one of only six teams who don’t have cheerleaders. The Bears have never had cheerleaders, and they don’t seem likely to add any in the near future. According to former Bears president Michael McCaskey, the team has no plans to add cheerleaders because they believe that football should be about the game and not about entertainment. Ozanian speculate that the reason the Browns don’t have cheerleaders is because of owner Jimmy Haslam’s preference for a more family-friendly atmosphere at games. He also noted that adding a squad would be an expensive endeavor, and it’s unclear if it would generate enough revenue to justify the cost.
While there are four NFL teams without cheerleaders, it’s worth noting that two of them (the Steelers and Bears) are currently in first place in their respective divisions. So maybe having cheerleaders isn’t necessary for success on the field after all.
Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions are the only NFL team without cheerleaders.
