Wayne Gretzky

Gretzky holds the NHL records for most goals (89), assists (122) and points (211) in a single playoff year. He is the only player to score more than 200 points in a playoff season. He played a total of 26 playoff series during his 20-year NHL career. Gretzky’s 51 goals in 1985–86 are the most ever scored in one playoff year, and his 87 assists in 1988–89 are second all time for one postseason.

Gretzky’s 43-game scoring streak (21 goals, 62 assists for 83 points) from October 5, 1983, to January 28, 1984, is an NHL record. His 61-game point-scoring streak (51 goals, 80 assists for 131 points) from October 14, 1983, to January 31, 1984—spanning parts of two regular seasons—is also an NHL record and was 10 games longer than the next longest streak by anyone else.
