Analysis

It’s that time of year again. The leaves are changing, the air is getting crisp and the 2020 NBA All Star Game is just around the corner. This year’s game is shaping up to be one of the most competitive in recent memory. So, who is going to win it all?

Why the Western Conference Will Win

The Western Conference has always been the more dominant conference in the NBA. Out of the last 10 NBA championships, the Western Conference has won 8 of them. The two conferences will go head to head on February 16th in what is sure to be an epic battle.

The Western Conference teams are stacked with established all-stars and up-and-coming superstars. The Los Angeles Lakers alone have two all-stars in LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Other top contenders in the West include Kawhi Leonard of the Los Angeles Clippers, Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets, and James Harden of the Houston Rockets.

In contrast, the Eastern Conference does not have nearly as much star power. The Milwaukee Bucks have been dominant this season, but their only all-star is Giannis Antetokounmpo. The East does have some other good players like Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks and Kemba Walker of the Boston Celtics, but they will likely not be enough to take down the West.

The Western Conference has won the last three All-Star games and they are looking to make it four in a row. With more all-stars and superstars, they are the clear favorite to win again in 2020.

Why the Eastern Conference Will Win

The Eastern Conference is stacked with young, up-and-coming superstars like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid, and Kristaps Porzingis. They also have veteran all-stars like Kyrie Irving, Kemba Walker, and Jimmy Butler. The East has a well-rounded team with a mix of experience and youth.

The Western Conference has a lot of star power, but they are plagued by injuries. superstars like LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Kawhi Leonard are all nursing injuries and will not be 100% for the All-Star game. The West also doesn’t have as much depth as the East.

With all things considered, the Eastern Conference is the clear favorite to win the 2020 NBA All-Star game.

Prediction

Our prediction is that the 2020 NBA All Star Game will be won by the Eastern Conference.
