Ivory was a popular wrestler in the 1990s and early 2000s. She was a member of the original incarnation of the stable D-Generation X. She is a former three-time WWE Women’s Champion and a two-time WWE Hardcore Champion.

Early life

Ivory Laka Frary was born on October 28, 1966, in Plain Dealing, Louisiana. As a child, she was a fan of and began following the sport of professional wrestling. When she was 18 years old, she began working as a waitress in a New Orleans night club where many professional wrestlers frequented.

In 1988, at the age of 22, Ivory began her professional wrestling career after being trained by famed wrestlers The Fabulous Moolah and Harvey Wippleman. Her first match was against fellow trainee Darlene Moore. She quickly made a name for herself in the industry and wrestled for various promotions throughout the United States, such as the United States Wrestling Association (USWA) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW).

In 1993, Ivory signed with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). She became a three-time WWF Women’s Champion and feuded with many of the top female wrestlers of her time including Alundra Blayze, Luna Vachon, and Jaeger Bomb. She also formed an alliance with Steve Austin and was managed by Ted DiBiase during her time with the WWF.

In 2000, Ivory left the WWF and retired from professional wrestling. In 2009, she was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Ivory started her career in World Wrestling Entertainment in 1999. She was a part of the company’s Attitude Era and was a two-time WWE Women’s Champion. She left WWE in 2005 and spent time in various independent promotions before returning to WWE in 2017 as a member of the Raw roster.

Personal life

Ivory was born Lisa Mary Moretti on November 26, 1961, in Brooklyn, New York. Ivory’s father was Italian American and her mother Dutch American. Ivory grew up in Connecticut. She graduated from high school in 1979, and then studied cosmetology in college. After working as a hair stylist for a few years, she began working as a professional wrestler in 1985.

Ivory wrestled in various independent promotions throughout the early 1990s before being signed by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in 1995. She initially appeared on WWF programming as one of The Godwinns’ pig farmers before aligning herself with Steve Austin and becoming his valet. As Austin’s “piggy”, she feuded with The Honky Tonk Man and his manager Jimmy Hart. She also competed in the first ever women’s six-person tag team match alongside The Fabulous Moolah and Mae Young at WrestleMania XIV.

After leaving the WWF in 1999, Ivory wrestled on the independent circuit and made occasional appearances for WWE until her retirement from professional wrestling in 2005. Since retiring from wrestling, she has made sporadic appearances on WWE television and worked as a producer for the company. In February 2018, the WWE announced that Ivory would be inducted into their Hall of Fame class of 2018.

Ivory Diane Ottman is an American former professional wrestler, better known by her ring name, Ivory. She is best known for her time with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), where she was a three-time WWE Women’s Champion and a two-time WWE Hardcore Champion.

Ottman began her professional wrestling career in 1995 after training with Bill DeMott. She wrestled on the independent circuit under the ring name Tina Ferrari and won the USWA Women’s Championship in 1996. She signed with WWE in 1999 and was assigned to their developmental territory, Memphis Championship Wrestling (MCW). She debuted on the main roster in 2000 as a member of Right to Censor, a conservative faction. Ivory won the WWE Women’s Championship for the first time in 2001. After leaving Right to Censor, she became a fan favorite and feuded with several other wrestlers over the title. In 2003, she won the Hardcore Championship twice within 24 hours, becoming the only woman to hold that title. After being inactive from 2004 to 2006 due to injury, she returned to WWE in 2007 and won the Women’s Championship for the second time that year. She left WWE again in 2008 and retired from professional wrestling in 2010.

Since retiring from wrestling, Ottman has made occasional appearances on television; she competed on NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice in 2012 and has appeared on several episodes of Table for 3 on WWE Network.
