The Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors are on the verge of winning their third NBA title in four years. They have been the best team in the league for the past four seasons and are currently on a 12-game winning streak. Kevin Durant has been the Finals MVP in each of the past two Finals, and he is the leading candidate to win it again this year.

Their regular season record

The Warriors finished the regular season with a record of 73-9, which is the best record in NBA history.

Their performance in the playoffs

The Golden State Warriors are an American professional basketball team based in San Francisco, California. The Warriors compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Western Conference Pacific Division. Founded in 1946 in Philadelphia, the Warriors relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1962 and took the city’s name, before changing its geographic moniker to Golden State in 1971. They play their home games at the Chase Center.

The Warriors won the inaugural Basketball Association of America (BAA) championship in 1947, led by future Hall of Fame head coach Andrew Guidi. The franchise won its second title in 1956, led by Hall of Fame front court players Paul Arizin and Neil Johnston. However, the Warriors would not return to similar levels of success for over 40 years; between 1959 and 1962, San Francisco won a then-record three straight titles behind star center Wilt Chamberlain.

After winning only 36 games combined from 1963 to 1966, with Chamberlain playing overseas during much of that time period due to injuries and poor relations with Warriors management following disagreements about his contractual terms, Chamberlain was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers during the offseason prior to the 1967–68 campaign. San Francisco finished last that season with 17 wins; following an ownership change during which Franklin Mieuli purchased a controlling interest in 1968, they finished last again with 16 victories during 1968–69 under new head coach Al Attles. Dick Motta was hired as head coach prior to the 1970–71 season and led them back into contention for a playoff berth by winning 33 games; they fell one game short when they were defeated by expansion team Milwaukee Bucks on the final day of regular season play.[citation needed]

The Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers are currently leading the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors. They have won two games in a row and are looking very strong. LeBron James is playing some of the best basketball of his career and the Cavaliers are taking full advantage of it. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the series plays out.

Their regular season record

The Cavaliers finished the regular season with a 50–32 record, earning the Eastern Conference’s second seed. They swept the Detroit Pistons in the first round of the playoffs and defeated the Atlanta Hawks in six games in the conference semifinals. Cleveland faced the Toronto Raptors in the Eastern Conference Finals, defeating them in six games to advance to their second NBA Finals appearance.

Their performance in the playoffs

The Cleveland Cavaliers are an American professional basketball team based in Cleveland, Ohio. The Cavaliers compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Eastern Conference Central Division. The team began play as an expansion team in 1970, along with the Portland Trail Blazers and Buffalo Braves. Home games were first held at Cleveland Arena from 1970 to 1974, followed by the Richfield Coliseum from 1974 to 1994. Since 1994, the Cavs have played their home games at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in downtown Cleveland. The team’s facilities previously include the Gund Arena and Quicken Loans Arena.

The Cavaliers have won one NBA championship, in 2016.

The matchup

The Warriors’ strengths

The Warriors are a well-rounded team, with no real weakness that the Cavaliers can exploit.

Their shooting is excellent, both from long range and at the free throw line. They have four players who averaged over 20 points per game during the regular season, and their offense is further bolstered by their ability to force turnovers and get out in transition for easy baskets.

On defense, they are led by reigning Defensive Player of the Year Draymond Green, who does an excellent job of protecting the rim and causing havoc with his athleticism and instincts. Their perimeter defenders are also very good, with long arms that make it difficult for opponents to get off clean shots.

The Cavaliers’ strengths

The Cavaliers are a very strong team, and they have key players that make them a force to be reckoned with in the NBA Finals. Their point guard, Kyrie Irving, is one of the best in the league and he is known for his ability to score points and create plays for his teammates. Additionally, their center, Tristan Thompson, is a defensive powerhouse who will be key in stopping the Warriors’ high-scoring offense. Furthermore, their shooting guard, J.R. Smith, is a dangerous three-point shooter who can help spread the floor and open up driving lanes for Irving and Thompson. Finally, their small forward, LeBron James, is one of the best players in the world and he has the ability to take over games both offensively and defensively. If the Cavaliers can play to their strengths, they have a good chance of winning the NBA Finals.

Who will win?

The Los Angeles Lakers are leading the series 3-1 against the Miami Heat. The Lakers have been the better team throughout the series and they are now just one win away from winning the championship. However, the Heat are a team that never gives up and they will be looking to take the series to a game 7. Who will win?

The Warriors

The Warriors are looking strong heading into the NBA Finals. They have a stacked lineup and are coming off of a dominant performance in the Western Conference Finals. The Warriors will be a tough team to beat and are favorites to win the NBA Finals.

The Cavaliers

The Cavaliers are currently leading the NBA Finals 3-0. They have looked dominant in all three games, and it seems unlikely that the Warriors will be able to come back and win the series. If the Cavaliers win, it will be their first NBA Championship in franchise history.
