Kyrie Irving

Kyrie Irving played in the NBA Celebrity All-Star game on Friday night. He was one of the best players on the court and helped lead his team to victory. Irving is a six-time NBA All-Star and was the MVP of the 2016 All-Star game. He is also a two-time NBA champion and was the Finals MVP in 2016.

Cleveland Cavaliers

Kyrie Andrew Irving is an American professional basketball player for the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association. Irving was born in Melbourne, Australia, but grew up in West Orange, New Jersey. He played college basketball for Duke University before being selected with the first overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft by the Cavaliers. Irving won an NBA championship with Cleveland in 2016. He was named the NBA Rookie of the Year and earned five All-Star selections in his first six seasons.

He played college basketball for the Oklahoma Sooners, when he was named the Consensus National Player of the Year as a sophomore. Griffin was selected first overall by the Clippers in the 2009 NBA draft and has since been a five-time NBA All-Star and a four-time All-NBA selection.

Griffin had a stellar rookie season with the Clippers, winning the NBA Rookie of the Year Award by averaging 22.5 points, 12.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. In his second season, he was selected to play in his first NBA All-Star Game, won the Slam Dunk Contest and was named as one of two players to receive unanimous nods for both the All-NBA Second Team and All-Rookie First Team. A year later, he became just one of three players to average at least 20 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists per game over their first two seasons in NBA history. In 2013–14, Griffin missed 45 games due to injury; however upon his return that season he still averaged a career-high 24.1 points per game along with 9.5 rebounds and 6 assists while earning his second straight selection on both All-Star team and All-NBA team. In 2014–15, Griffin led the Clippers in scoring once again with 21.9 points per game, paired with 7 assistss per game en route to another top seed for Los Angeles in nine years despite numerous injuries that limited him to 35 regular season games played; he would also be selected for his fourth straight All Star Game appearance as well as being named on his fifth straight All NBA team selection.

Griffin grew up in Oklahoma as a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros. He was born to Tommy and Gail Griffin, who divorced when he was three years old. His mother worked two jobs to support him and his younger brother, Taylor Griffin. Blake often logged onto Taylor’s computer to create videos of himself dunking—this early interest in computers would later pay off, as he used them to help market himself during his collegiate career. When he was eight years old, his father denied his request to play football because he believed it would be too dangerous; however, by high school, Blake had begun playing sports on several different teams: basketball at McDonald’s All-American Games co-MVP; football at defensive end for Oklahoma Christian School; track & field in sprinting events; and frisbee on an Ultimate team that won state championship three years in a row from 2006–2008.[citation needed]

He played college basketball for one season with the Syracuse Orange, winning a national championship before declaring for the 2003 NBA draft.

Anthony attended Towson Catholic High School and Oak Hill Academy before enrolling at Syracuse University. In his only season at Syracuse, he led the Orangemen to their first NCAA Division I National Championship in 2003 while being named as the NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player.

Anthony then entered the 2003 NBA draft where he was selected as the third pick by the Denver Nuggets. Since entering the NBA, Anthony has been named an All-Star 11 times and an All-NBA Team member 10 times while leading several statistical categories. While playing for Denver, he led Nuggets to nine consecutive playoff appearances from 2004 to 2012. In 2009, he was traded to the New York Knicks in which he spent seven seasons with New York Knicks before being traded back to Oklahoma City Thunder in 2017.
