Reasons for WWE Releases
Over the past few years, WWE has been known to release a lot of their talent for various reasons. Some wrestlers are released because WWE doesn’t have plans for them, some are released due to injury, and some are released because they violated the WWE’s code of conduct. This year, WWE has released a few wrestlers already and there are rumors that more releases are coming. Let’s take a look at some of the wrestlers who have been released and the reasons why.
Lack of talent
In some cases, WWE releases are due to a lack of talent. This is usually the case with superstars who have not been able to make a name for themselves in the company. WWE may also release superstars who are not able to keep up with the competition.
Financial reasons
One of the main reasons WWE releases wrestlers is due to financial reasons. Let’s face it, WWE is a business and they are in the business of making money. If a wrestler is not bringing in enough revenue or if they are costing the company too much money, then WWE has no problem releasing them.
In recent years, we have seen many wrestlers get released due to financial reasons. In 2021 alone, we have seen wrestlers like Samoa Joe, The IIconics, Mickie James, and Tamina Snuka get released due to financial reasons.
It is always a sad day when a wrestler gets released, but it is even more upsetting when it happens for financial reasons. We can only hope that these wrestlers are able to find success outside of WWE.
Reactions to WWE Releases
Anger
Many fans were angry when WWE released a number of superstars in 2021. Some of the superstars who were let go included Samoa Joe, The IIconics, and Goldust. While WWE has not released an official statement, it is believed that the company is trying to save money due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Sadness
It is always tough to see people lose their jobs, especially when it happens suddenly and without warning. WWE is a brutal place to work and has been known to release people with very little notice. This can be difficult for the superstars and their families, as they have to scramble to find a new place to live and new sources of income.
While many fans are sad to see their favorite wrestlers go, WWE is a business first and foremost. The company has released many popular wrestlers over the years in an effort to cut costs or because they were not happy with their contract negotiations. It is always possible that a wrestler will be released even if they are still under contract, as WWE has done this in the past as well.
Indifference
In today’s wrestling climate, WWE releases are becoming more and more common. With so many wrestlers being let go on a regular basis, it’s hard to keep track of who is still with the company and who isn’t.
As a result, many fans have become desensitized to the releases, and simply don’t care when wrestlers are let go anymore. While there are still some releases that generate a strong reaction from the WWE Universe, for the most part, fans have become indifferent to them.
