Growing up in The Plains, Ohio, Burrow played quarterback for his high school football team, the Athens Bulldogs. As a senior, he was named the Gatorade Ohio Player of the Year and Mr. Football Ohio after leading the Bulldogs to their first undefeated season and state championship in school history.
Burrow attended Ohio State University, where he played quarterback for the Ohio State Buckeyes from 2015 to 2018. He was a backup quarterback his first two years before becoming the starter in his junior year. As a senior, he was named the Big Ten Conference Offensive Player of the Year after leading the Buckeyes to a conference championship and a berth in the 2019 Rose Bowl.

Young finished his collegiate career with 50 tackles for loss, which is second in Ohio State history behind only Vernon Gholston.

Jeffrey Okudah was born in Grand Prairie, Texas, on December 10, 1999. He is the oldest of three sons born to parents who emigrated from Nigeria in the 1990s. His father, Henry, worked in construction, and his mother, Rosemary, was a nurse. Okudah’s parents divorced when he was young, and he was raised by his mother. He began playing football in fifth grade and quickly developed into a star player. He played wide receiver and defensive back for South Grand Prairie High School, and was named to the All-District team as both a junior and senior.
Okudah enrolled at Ohio State University in 2017 with the goal of becoming a doctor. He redshirted his first year of eligibility and saw limited action as a reserve defensive back as a freshman in 2018. He became a starter at cornerback as a sophomore in 2019 and had an outstanding season. Okudah was named a consensus All-American and helped lead the Buckeyes to a 13-1 record and a berth in the College Football Playoff semifinals.
On April 23, 2020, Okudah was selected by the Detroit Lions with the third overall pick in the NFL Draft. He became just the third cornerback to be drafted in the top three since 2006 (joining Morris Claiborne and Marcus Peters).

Okudah playedcollege football at Ohio State University from 2017 to 2019. As a freshman in 2017, he was a backup cornerback behind Damon Arnette and Kendall Sheffield. In 2018, Okudah became a starter after Arnette and Sheffield both decided to forgo their senior seasons and declare for the NFL Draft. He started all 14 games of the season, recording 37 tackles, three interceptions, and one forced fumble.
Okudah was a consensus first-team All-American and won the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation’s best defensive back in 2019 after starting all 13 games and recording 44 tackles, one interception, and one forced fumble. He decided to forgo his senior season and declare for the 2020 NFL Draft after the 2019 season.
