Eastern Conference

The Toronto Raptors are on a roll lately, winning their past 5 games. They are playing the Charlotte Hornets tonight, who they should be able to beat. The Hornets have been struggling as of late, losing 4 out of their last 5 games.

Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics are an American professional basketball team based in Boston, Massachusetts. The Celtics compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Eastern Conference Atlantic Division. Founded in 1946 as one of the league’s original eight teams, the team play their home games at TD Garden, which they share with the National Hockey League (NHL)’s Boston Bruins. The Celtics are one of the most successful teams in NBA history; they have won 22 NBA Championships, which ranks second behind the Los Angeles Lakers 53 championships.

Toronto Raptors

The Toronto Raptors are a Canadian professional basketball team based in Toronto, Ontario. The Raptors compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Eastern Conference Atlantic Division. They play their home games at the Scotiabank Arena, which they share with the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs. The team was established in 1995, along with the Vancouver Grizzlies, as part of the NBA’s expansion into Canada.

The Raptors are the only Canadian-based NBA team. They failed to make the playoffs for their first five seasons but grew increasingly competitive in 2000–01, leading Division annals in wins and regular season attendance before qualifying for their first playoff berth in franchise history in 2002–03. Following four disappointing playoff berths, including a first-round sweep by Philadelphia in 2001–02 and a loss to eventual Eastern Conference champion New Jersey in 2002–03, they would win 47 games and earn the Atlantic Division title under head coach Sam Mitchell during the 2006–07 campaign. In spite of being swept by Miami again during that post-season, Toronto earned enough respect from American media outlets such that ESPN color commentator Dick Vitale referred to them as “the best team nobody’s ever heard of”, which was lampooned on an episode of South Park; Canada later revealed that it had begun televising all Raptors’ games across its territory on TSN2 beginning with this season, although this reconciliation was short lived as Vitale continues to rib them while on air when they struggle or play poorly during future broadcasts

Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers are an American professional basketball team based in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The 76ers compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Eastern Conference Atlantic Division and play at Wells Fargo Center. The team’s president of basketball operations is former NBA player Magic Johnson, while its general manager is Rob Pelinka.

One of the most successful teams in NBA history, the Lakers have won 16 NBA championships, their last being in 2010. As of 2019, the Lakers hold the record for having made the most Finals appearances with 31, and are second behind only the Boston Celtics in having won the most championships with 16. The Rockets won only 15 games in their debut season as a franchise in 1967. In the 1968 NBA draft, the Rockets, picking first overall, selected power forward Elvin Hayes, who would lead the team to its first playoff appearance in his rookie season. The Rockets did not finish a season with a winning record until the 1976–77 season when they traded for center Moses Malone. Malone went on to win the NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) award twice and led Houston to the conference finals in his first year with the team. He also led them to the NBA Finals in 1981 where they were defeated by the Boston Celtics . In 1984, The Rockets drafted center Hakeem Olajuwon , who would become one of the 50 Greatest Players of all time[5] leading them to back-to-back championships against Patrick Ewing ‘s New York Knicks .

Ralph Sampson , Olajuwon ‘s counterpart at power forward , joined him as an All-Star for several years as well; both players later were inducted intoNaismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame . As fellow All-Star Clyde Drexler followed Olajuwon as league MVP that season and Twin Towers era came to an abrupt end when Sampson was traded to warriorsthat offseason for center Alton Lister . Rudy Tomjanovich took over as head coach midway through 1991–92 season , leading Rocketsto 52 wins en route to defeating Reggie Miller ‘s Indiana Pacers 3–2in second round of playoffs despite losing Malone and Drexler during that campaign due torecent surgeries . After Sampson was traded following second consecutive 50-win season , Olajuwon became focal point of offense; he regularly led leaguein blocks and reset single-season mark for most swats during 1993–94 campaign which saw Rockets claim their fifth division title . However , following that campaign with key contributors such as Robert Horryole Drexler gone via trade or retirement , any further playoff success eluded them over next decade but each draft from 1999 onward produced multiple rotation players including Steve FrancisTracy McGradyYao Mingand Kyle Lowry which allowed Tomjanovich successor Jeff Van Gundyto guide squad back into playoffs en route to 54 regular season victories during 2004–05 edition while also yielding eventual two-time Defensive Player lottery pick Lonzo Ballof 2017
