LeBron James was doing everything he could to keep the Cavaliers in it, putting up 18 points, seven rebounds and six assists. The Warriors’ bench also stepped up in the first half, outscoring the Cavs’ bench 22-7.
The Second Half
With the score 95-91 in favor of the Golden State Warriors, things were looking good for them heading into the second half. However, the lead did not last long as the Cavaliers went on an 11-0 run early in the third quarter to take a 102-95 lead. From there, it was a back and forth battle with neither team leading by more than six points. With under a minute to play and the score tied at 107, Andre Iguodala made a layup to give the Warriors the lead. The Cavaliers had a chance to tie it up with seconds remaining, but LeBron James’s buzzer-beater fell short, giving the Warriors a 109-108 victory and their second straight NBA championship.
