WWE Championships

He won the title by defeating Goldberg at WrestleMania 33.

The title was established on July 25, 2016, when then-WWE Champion Seth Rollins defeated Dean Ambrose in the finals of a tournament at Battleground. The concept of a universal champion was first established in 1991 by WCW, when it promoted two world champions: the World Heavyweight Champion and the World Television Champion; however, that promotion never referred to either as “universal”.

The United States Championship was originally established by the then-World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF) on January 1, 1963 as the WWWF United States Heavyweight Championship and was subsequently unified with the NWA United States Heavyweight Championship on August 31, 1986 to form the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship. The title remained inactive until 1995, when it was resurrected by WCW and held until its insertion into WWE in 2001 during The Invasion storyline.

As a result of the 2016 Brand Extension draft, it became exclusive to the SmackDown brand. A unifying tournament was then held later that month which AJ Styles won to become the inaugural champion on July 26, 2016. As of April 6, 2019, there have been 33 reigns between 17 champions, with Styles being the longest reigning champion at 406 days.

WWE Tag Team Championship

The WWE Tag Team Championship is a professional wrestling world tag team championship contested in WWE on the SmackDown brand. Introduced as the World Tag Team Championship, it was WWE’s original world tag team title until the promotion introduced the World Tag Team Championship for their Raw brand as a result of the 2009 WWE draft. A third separate title, the WWE Universal Tag Team Championship, is contested for on Raw and was introduced at WrestleMania 34.

The current champions are The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford), who are in their first reign as a team. They defeated The Viking Raiders (Erik and Ivar) at Survivor Series.

He is the current WWE Universal Champion, and has held the title for a total of 434 days (as of October 2020). Reigns is also a former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, having held the title for a total of 160 days.

The WWE Intercontinental Championship is a professional wrestling championship created and promoted by the American professional wrestling promotion WWE on the SmackDown brand. It is one of the two secondary titles of the WWE, along with the United States Championship on the Raw brand.

As of May 2020, the current WWE Intercontinental Champion is “The Miz”, who is also a former WWE Champion, United States Champion and Tag Team Champion. He is the 25th Triple Crown Champion and the 15th Grand Slam Champion in WWE history.

Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler has had an impressive career in WWE thus far, and one of his most notable accomplishments is being a 6-time WWE Intercontinental Champion. He is currently the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion in WWE history, having held the title for a total of 140 days.

Ziggler’s first run with the Intercontinental Championship came in 2012, when he defeated Cody Rhodes at Night of Champions. He would go on to have successful title defenses against The Miz, Sin Cara, and Rhodes again before losing the title to Big E Langston at TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs.

Ziggler regained the Intercontinental Championship from Bad News Barrett at Extreme Rules in 2014, and would hold onto the title for nearly 4 months before losing it to The Miz at SummerSlam.

In 2015, Ziggler once again became Intercontinental Champion by defeating Ryback at Hell in a Cell. He would hold onto the title for over 2 months before losing it to Kevin Owens at TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs.

Ziggler won the Intercontinental Championship for a fourth time in 2016, defeating The Miz on an episode of SmackDown Live. He held onto the title until WrestleMania 33, where he lost it to Dean Ambrose.

Ziggler won the Intercontinental Championship for a fifth time in 2017, defeating The Miz and Baron Corbin in a Triple Threat Match on an episode of SmackDown Live. He would go on to hold the title for over 2 months before losing it to Roman Reigns at SummerSlam.

Most recently, Ziggler won the Intercontinental Championship for a sixth time by defeating Finn Bálor on an episode of Raw in 2018. He is currently scheduled to defend the title against Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 35.

Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho is a Canadian professional wrestler, musician, media personality, actor, author, and businessman. He is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW). He is also well known for his time in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), as well as World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), where he also found success. In WWE, Jericho became the first Undisputed Champion, after he unified the WWF Championship and the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. He is also a six-time world champion, having won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship five times and WWE’s World Heavyweight Championship once. He has also won the Intercontinental Championship a record nine times and the World Tag Team Championship five times.

WWE United States Championship

The WWE United States Championship is a professional wrestling championship contested in the American promotion WWE on the Raw brand. It was originally known as the NWA United States Heavyweight Championship and began as a regional title of the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA). The title has been defended in the NWA, Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling, Jim Crockett Promotions, World Championship Wrestling (WCW), Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), World Wrestling Federation (WWF), and WWE.

WWE United States Champion John Cena has won the title a record number of times, with a total of 13 championship reigns.

Rusev

Rusev is a Bulgarian professional wrestler and former powerlifter and rower.Born Miroslav Barnyashev in Plovdiv, Rusev received training from WWE Hall of Famer Funk at Eddie Sharkey’s wrestling school. He signed a developmental contract with WWE in 2010, reporting to their developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW).

In FCW, he adopted the ring name Alexander Rusev and was paired with Slick Nick, forming a tag team named The Bulgari. He debuted on the main roster in January 2014, allied with Lana. They were later joined by Rusev’s former trainer Zeb Colter, creating the stable The Real Americans (later redubbed as The League of Nations after the stable’s dissolution). As part of the stable, he won the United States Championship at Fastlane 2015. He is also a two-time WWE United States Champion.

Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens is a Canadian-born professional wrestler currently signed to WWE. He is also a former NXT Champion and United States Champion, making him a two-time champion in WWE. Owens first began wrestling on the independent circuit in 2000. He signed with WWE in 2014 and was assigned to their developmental territory NXT, where he won the NXT Championship in his debut match. He made his main roster debut the following year and won the United States Championship from John Cena at Elimination Chamber.

WWE Tag Team Championship

The WWE Tag Team Championship is a professional wrestling world tag team championship contested in WWE. It is the second oldest championship in WWE, behind the WWE Championship. The inaugural champions were the British Bulldog and the Dynamite Kid. As of 2020, there have been a total of 71 different teams who have held the WWE Tag Team Championship.

The New Day

As of 2019, The New Day has won the WWE Tag Team Championship a record seven times. They are also the longest reigning tag team champions in WWE history, having held the title for a combined 466 days.

The Usos

The Usos are a professional wrestling tag team of twin brothers Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso, who are currently assigned to the SmackDown brand of WWE. They are former two-time WWE Tag Team Champions, winning their first championships in 2013. They are also former one-time SmackDown Tag Team Champions. They were the final holders of the WWE Tag Team Championship before it was unified with the World Tag Team Championship, thus becoming two-time Unified WWE Tag Team Champions.

The Usos are part of an extended family that includes their cousins Roman Reigns, Rosey, and The Rock. They are members of The Anoaʻi family’s Anoaʻi wrestling dynasty and related to several past and present wrestlers in WWE including Yokozuna, Rikishi, Umaga, and The Tonga Kid.

The Hardy Boyz

The Hardy Boyz are a professional wrestling tag team consisting of brothers Jeff and Matt Hardy, who are currently signed to WWE. They are best known for their work in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), later renamed World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), from 1998 to 2009. During this time, they held the WWF/World Tag Team Championship a record seven times.
