Who Won the MVP in the 2018 NFL Season?

The 2018 NFL season is over and the MVP has been announced. Who won the MVP?

Tom Brady

Tom Brady was the favorite to win the MVP entering the 2018 NFL season. He had just come off of a Super Bowl win, and he was playing for the best team in the league. Brady didn’t have the best statistical season of his career, but he was still the most valuable player in the league.

New England Patriots

The New England Patriots are a professional American football team based in the Greater Boston region. The Patriots compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) East division. The team plays its home games at Gillette Stadium in the town of Foxborough, Massachusetts, which is located 28 miles (45 km) southwest of downtown Boston.

The Patriots are also headquartered at Gillette Stadium. An original member of the American Football League (AFL), the Patriots joined the NFL in 1970 as part of the AFL–NFL merger. The team changed its name from the original Boston Patriots after relocating to Foxborough in 1971. The Patriots played their home games at Foxboro Stadium from 1971 to 2001, then moved to Gillette Stadium at the start of 2002 season.

The Patriots have appeared in ten Super Bowls since 2001, winning seven of them, most recently Super Bowl LIII in 2018. They have since become the second team to win a championship and be crowned world champions three times following their victory over the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII, joining the Pittsburgh Steelers who accomplished this feat twice previously with victories in Super Bowl IX and XLIII.

Stats

In the 2018 NFL season, Brady had a total of 4,355 passing yards with 29 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

Drew Brees

Drew Brees, who plays for the New Orleans Saints, was named the 2018 NFL season MVP. Brees threw for 32 touchdowns and 5,131 yards, leading the Saints to a 13-3 record and a first-round bye in the playoffs.

New Orleans Saints

In 2018, the New Orleans Saints had one of the most successful seasons in recent memory. Led by veteran quarterback Drew Brees, the Saints went on to win the NFC South with a record of 11-5. In the playoffs, the Saints defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round and then went on to upset the top-seeded Minnesota Vikings in the Divisional round. In the NFC Championship game, the Saints narrowly defeated the Los Angeles Rams 26-23 in overtime to advance to Super Bowl LIII.

Drew Brees was named the MVP of the 2018 NFL season after leading his team to a 13-3 record and throwing for 3,992 yards and 32 touchdowns. This was an incredible accomplishment, as Brees became only the second player in NFL history to win multiple MVP awards (Peyton Manning is the other).

Stats

In the 2018 NFL season, Brees completed 364-of-489 passes (74.4 percent) for 3,992 yards (8.2 YPA), 32 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He also rushed 37 times for 163 yards and two touchdowns.

Todd Gurley

The 2018 NFL MVP was awarded to Todd Gurley on Saturday night at the NFL Honors ceremony. Gurley was a running back for the Los Angeles Rams. He led the league in rushing yards and touchdowns.

Los Angeles Rams

Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley has been named the Most Valuable Player of the 2018 NFL season. The announcement was made Saturday night at the annual NFL Honors awards show in Atlanta.

Gurley, who played his college football at the University of Georgia, is in his fourth season with the Rams. He was a first-team All-Pro in 2017 and was named to the Pro Bowl in each of the last two seasons.

In 2018, Gurley rushed for 1,831 yards and scored 21 touchdowns. He also had 59 receptions for 580 yards and four touchdowns. Gurley’s 2,421 yards from scrimmage were the most in the NFL this season.

In his third season in the NFL, Todd Gurley put up some impressive numbers. He carried the ball 256 times for 1,251 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also caught 59 passes for 580 yards and four touchdowns. His 2,331 all-purpose yards led the NFL and he was named the AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year.

Patrick Mahomes

The 2018 NFL season was one for the books. Many talented players stepped up to the challenge and left their mark on the game. However, there can only be one MVP. That award goes to Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Kansas City Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, was named the 2018 NFL Most Valuable Player on Saturday night. The 23-year-old quarterback is the third player in Chiefs history to receive the award, joining Hall of Famers Len Dawson (1962) and running back Marcus Allen (1985).

Stats

In his first full season as the starter, Mahomes threw for 5,097 yards, 50 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. He also rushed for 272 yards and two touchdowns. His passer rating was 115.8. He led the league in passing yards and passing touchdowns, becoming the sixth player in NFL history to do so in a single season. He also became the second quarterback to throw for over 5,000 yards in a single season. Mahomes was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Year and unanimously voted as the NFL MVP.

Aaron Rodgers

Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers are a professional American football team based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Packers compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) North division. It is the third-oldest franchise in the NFL, dating back to 1919, and is the only non-profit, community-owned major league professional sports team based in the United States. Home games have been played at Lambeau Field since 1957.

Stats

In the 2018 NFL season, Rodgers played in all 16 regular season games and led the league in touchdown passes with 26, while also throwing only four interceptions. He completed 341 of his 506 pass attempts (67.2%), for a career-high 4,438 yards. These numbers helped him earn his third NFL MVP award* (most recently in 2014), as well as being named first-team All-Pro for the fourth time in his career.
