The Cleveland Cavaliers ended the regular season with a record of 53-29. They were the second seed in the Eastern Conference.

The Cleveland Cavaliers made NBA history in 2016 by becoming the first team to come back from a 3-1 deficit to win the NBA Finals.

The Warriors won the series in five games, becoming the first team in NBA history to win three championships in four years.

The Golden State Warriors took on the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first game of the NBA Finals on Thursday, June 1. Warriors forward Draymond Green was suspended for the game, giving the Cavaliers a significant advantage. The Cavaliers took full advantage of Green’s absence, winning by a score of 108-102. LeBron James led the way for the Cavaliers with 25 points, 8 assists, and 6 rebounds. Kyrie Irving added 23 points and Kevin Love chipped in with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Steph Curry led the Warriors with 22 points, while Klay Thompson added 21 points. The series now shifts to Oakland for Game 2 on Sunday, June 4.

Game 2

On Thursday, the Golden State Warriors won their second consecutive NBA championship, defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers 108-85 in Game 4 of the Finals. It was a rematch of last year’s Finals, in which the Warriors defeated the Cavaliers in six games.

The Warriors win was led by Finals MVP Kevin Durant, who scored 39 points on 14-of-20 shooting, including 5-of-8 from three-point range. Durant also had seven rebounds and five assists. Stephen Curry added 21 points and eight assists, while Draymond Green had 10 points, 12 rebounds and six assists.

For the Cavaliers, LeBron James scored 29 points on 11-of-22 shooting. He also had 14 rebounds and eight assists. Kyrie Irving added 24 points and six assists, while Kevin Love had 15 points and 11 rebounds.

The Warriors managed to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the best of seven series with a 110-102 victory in Game 3. Stephen Curry led the way for Golden State, scoring 33 points on 11-of-22 shooting, including 6-of-13 from three-point range. Kevin Durant added 26 points, Andre Iguodala had 22 and Klay Thompson chipped in 15.

LeBron James was once again spectacular for the Cavaliers, finishing with 29 points, 11 assists and 14 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough as Cleveland fell to 0-3 in the series. Kevin Love had 21 points and 10 rebounds and Kyle Korver added 15 points off the bench, but the Cavs’ role players failed to step up in a must-win game.

Golden State is now one win away from claiming its second straight NBA championship and third in four years. The Warriors will have a chance to close out the series at home in Game 4 on Friday night.

Who Won?

The Los Angeles Lakers won the 2020 NBA Finals, defeating the Miami Heat in six games. This was the Lakers’ first NBA championship since 2010, and their 17th overall. LeBron James was named the Finals MVP for the fourth time in his career.
