Who’s the oldest player in the NFL? We did some research and found out who the oldest player in the NFL is. Check it out!
Introduction
In the National Football League (NFL), it is fairly common for players to retire in their thirties. However, there have been a number of players who have defied the odds and continued playing into their forties and even fifties. So, who is the oldest NFL football player?
As of 2021, the oldest NFL football player is Morten Andersen, who is currently 62 years old. Andersen played for a total of 25 seasons in the NFL, and is widely considered to be one of the greatest kickers of all time. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017.
Interestingly, Andersen is not the only active player who is over 50 years old. George Blanda, who played quarterback and kicker, was also inducted into the Hall of Fame and played until he was 48 years old. Jerry Rice, widely considered to be the greatest wide receiver in NFL history, also played until he was 42 years old.
While it is certainly impressive that these players were able to play at such a high level for so long, it should be noted that they are all specialists (kickers or quarterbacks). It is much rarer for players at other positions to play into their forties, although there have been a handful of notable exceptions.

He represented the Saints in seven Pro Bowls throughout his career. Andersen is the all-time leading scorer in both the regular season and postseason with 2,544 points and382 points respectively. He holds the NFL records for most career field goals attempted (565) and made (565).
