Wood Duck baseball: ticket information

Wood Duck baseball is a fan favorite in the Roanoke Valley, and tickets for the upcoming season are now on sale! Here’s what you need to know to get your tickets:

The Wood Ducks play their home games at Kiwanis Field in Salem, Virginia. Tickets can be purchased online at www.salemva.gov/recreation, or in person at the Salem Recreation and Parks office (1002 Texas Street). Box seats are $7 each, and Bleacher seats are $5 each. A family pass for two adults and two children is also available for $25.

Gates open one hour before game time and parking is free. Concessions will be available for purchase inside the ballpark. For more information, call 540-375-3057.

Wood Duck baseball: game highlights

Wood Duck Baseball is back for another season! The team kicks off its home season on May 1st against the Hounds. Game highlights will include:

-Rookie first baseman, Jake Johnson, will make his home debut
-All-star second baseman, John Smith, will be back in action after missing most of last season with an injury
-The Wood Ducks will be wearing special “throwback” jerseys for select home games

Coach Jay Gifford:
“I’m really proud of the team’s effort today. We came out and played hard for all nine innings and it paid off.”

Pitcher Tony Nelson:
“I felt great out there today. My arm felt strong and I was able to make my pitches when I needed to.”

Catcher Jake Forrest:
“It was a great team effort today. Everybody worked together and we were able to get the win.”

Wood Duck baseball is back for another season! The team is committed to community outreach, and they have a lot of fun activities planned.

Some of the events they have planned include:
-A visit to the local elementary school to read to the kids and talk about the importance of education
-A day at the park with games, prizes, and face painting for the kids
-A food drive to collect donations for the local food bank
-An appearance at the local library to read stories and sign autographs for fans
-A visit to a nursing home to spend time with the residents and brighten their day
