The Lancers are coming off a tough loss to Bentley in their season opener on Wednesday, while the Greyhounds split their first two games of the season against Franklin Pierce

Worcester State will be looking to rebound from their season-opening loss as they take on an Assumption team that is coming off a split in their first two games. The Lancers will be Led by senior pitcher Mike Walsh, who will be looking to build off his strong performance in the opener against Bentley. Walsh went six innings, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out four in the Lancers’ 3-1 loss.

The Greyhounds will counter with junior pitcher Matt Pactolus, who picked up the win in his first start of the season against Franklin Pierce Pactolus went seven innings, allowing just one run on five hits while striking out four in Assumption’s 5-1 victory.

Both teams will be looking to get their offenses going in this game, as they combined for just eight runs in their respective season openers. Worcester State will be led by senior third baseman Andrew Curran, who had two hits, including a double, and an RBI in the loss to Bentley.
